Ok so I'm in my mid 20s, 5'6" and literally look like a stick..well almost.  Would it be possible for me to gain a lot of muscle mass and look ripped?  I don't want look like young Arnold...I just wanna look like a fine ass model whose ripped and not look like a skinny ass weak dude.  If so can you guys tell me how and how long it would take to notice a change?

5'7 kind-sorta ripped mid 20s guy here..

The good thing about being short is that you can put on noticable muscle mass pretty quickly (because you need less of it to cover your not-overly-elongated body). So just eat a lot of good food and work out. It's very possible

Yeah. The shorter you are the easier it usually is to look ripped. Sure it depends on the metabolism but it can be done. I'd say the mid 20s are a good age to do it since you're done with puberty. Just go to a gym, ask a trainer to make you a schedule of what and when to work out and eat a lot. Also keep in mind the body needs to recover. So working all your muscle groups every day won't lead to anything. You need breaks and you need to alternate your muscle groups. And don't forget to eat a lot. I'm 19 and 6'3". It's pretty hard for me since I simply don't get weight. No muscle, no fat. I inherited my father's metabolism who looked like me and you (skinny) until his mid 20s. He picked up working out as a hobby and has been doing it ever since. My dad, every friend that goes to the gym, every trainer I've spoken to has told me the same thing. Work out and eat a lot. But don't exhaust your body by training too often. Good luck.

Is $30 per month a decent price to go to a gym? I live in cali if that matters.

I guess it is. In my home town it was about 17$ to go to a pretty cool gym. Where I live now it's about 25$. I guess cali is worth 30$. It doesn't really matter as long as it has enough gear to suit your needs and it's not antique and rusty.

do you currently work out, if so how? diet and an unweighted workout program may be all you need. if you happen to like the outdoors there are hobbies like rafting, swimming, and rock climbing all provide great body workouts with little to no reoccurring costs, like membership fees. with that said i have a gym membership and it costs me about 600$ a year. you need to give us a lot more information about your situation from dietary to physical activity and monetary and time limitations. if everything is unlimited drive a dump truck filled with cash to any great trainer and hire them as your 24/7 life coach for 2 years.

I love how people say they don't want to get too buff.  The secret is that you have to train like you want to be Arnold and if your lucky you'll make it to looking like this so called fine ass model.  Most of the population couldn't reach Arnold's size no matter how hard they train.

Also, most of the battle is what you eat.  High protien diet.  You'll need to eat more calories than you burn to gain any substantial muscle.

Of course how you look will really come down to your genetics...

Yep, it is possible. Eat shit tons of fish, grass-fed/finished beef and vegetables. Drink shit tons of water. Don't consume anything else. Do shit tons of squats, dead-lifts, pull ups, and push ups. Done. You will look like humans are supposed to look.

your first mistake is wanting to get "ripped". if you're a small skinny guy then your goal should be to get buff, and put on as much weight as you can. lol theres kinda a saying with dudes who lift weights and stuff and it's "a skinny dude with abs is like a fat chick with boobs, it doesn't count".

so if you want to get "ripped", then do do small weights and a bunch of repitions and you'll get definition and stuff, but you won't gain muscle and you'll still look like a puss. if you want to look like those model dudes then you gotta gain muscle first and get buff, that means eat your ass off and lift your ass off. heavy weights only, if you can do 10 reps then you're not doing heavy enough. and eat all the time.

If you're over the age of 25 Take 50mg of Anavar daily for 6 weeks. and after you finish the anavar take Nolvadex for 3 weeks @ 20mg daily. *The only side effect of these drugs that's a cause for concern is anavar will raise cholesterol

Yeah, you just need proper nutrition and weight training. Get about 0.8-1g protein per lb body weight and don't eat junk. Also, don't forget to do some cardio.

this, every time i hear someone saying "they dont want to get too muscular" i wanna strangle a puppy.of course in his case, since he is short,he better not become very muscular(which of course would take years),cause he would look like an overcompensating short guy, there are tons of them on the gyms

There is no such thing as 'body type'. Everyone's genetics and muscle insertions are different but the whole 'mesomorph', 'ectomorph' classifications is a bunch of nonsense.

well regardless of body type, it's pretty common knowledge that heavy weights and short sets = muscle mass. there is nothing you can do with body type you have to work with what you got. ive seen dudes like him at the gym all the time. skinny dudes that say they want to gain muscle but they just keep doing like 20+ reps of every exercise and then they feel tough with their little skinny six packs. he said he wants to get ripped like those model dudes, and those guys gain some mass first at least before they start getting cut or defined. getting ripped is fine but there has to be some muscle there in the first place to define.

True facts. If you're a beginner you should be doing three exercises and be in and out of the gym in less than an hour. Every set should be a five rep ball buster.

"Body Types" are essentially the grouping of metabolism, genetics and muscle insertions through similarities.

Anavar is not a waste of time if side effects are your primary concern(anavar is most side effect friendly -- has almost none).

Also Anavar is intended for skinny people -- originally made for aids and cancer patients.

I love how people say they don't want to get too buff.  The secret is that you have to train like you want to be Arnold and if your lucky you'll make it to looking like this so called fine ass model.  Most of the population couldn't reach Arnold's size no matter how hard they train.

Also, most of the battle is what you eat.  High protien diet.  You'll need to eat more calories than you burn to gain any substantial muscle.

Of course how you look will really come down to your genetics...

exactly what i was going to say, Man i get pissed when people say they dont want to be a muscular as Arnold, as if putting on muscle is easy enough to be able to get to that level.

Why do you get pissed when someone who doesn't know anything about fitness is wrong? That's like getting pissed at a middle school kid because they don't know how to solve for x in an algebra equation. If they are thinking this, they likely haven't had the opportunity to learn about the effects of exercise on the body.

If it's legal in your country here's the best two steroid options.

*If you wanna get ripped Anavar is the way to go. If you wanna get buff Test E is the way to go.

Anavar on its own is a complete waste of time. What the hell are you talking about? Especially recommending it to a guy who looks like a stick and has no muscle mass. Jesus.

Anavar is not a waste of time if side effects are your primary concern(anavar is most side effect friendly -- has almost none).

Also Anavar is intended for skinny people -- originally made for aids and cancer patients.

Exercise has many health benefits that costs thousands of dollars to get the same effect from drugs. Maybe he also has goals of becoming healthier along with working out?

If you're over the age of 25 Take 50mg of Anavar daily for 6 weeks. and after you finish the anavar take Nolvadex for 3 weeks @ 20mg daily. *The only side effect of these drugs that's a cause for concern is anavar will raise cholesterol Fightingfan
lol I approve of this advice

Yeah, it's possible, you just got to work hard the same way an overweight person would have to if they wanted to be ripped.

I've been going to the gym for years, and there are lots of guys sub 5'7 who are ripped. They usually use roids and HGH. Do that, and you'll get ripped quick. If you don't want to, then just go to the gym every day, get a routine (triceps/chest one day, biceps the next, legs, etc), work a GOOD 1-2 hours, drink a protein shake, and eat a lot more than you do now (a balanced meal; I rarely eat meat, but make up for it with beans and brown rice, plus lots of vegetables).

Exactly for the same reason i stated, Because all the time you get these little skinny guys coming into the gym or anywhere saying "Oh i want to get muscular but not as big as a bodybuilder", and always the way they say it makes it seem so easy like if they go to the gym for a year they'll be as big as Arnold or Lou, It really takes away from the effort the rest of us have put in over alot of years to put on muscle and mass and get in good shape when you get these people treating muscle like its some easy thing you can put on in no time just by lifting the right weights. And plus in this day and age how hard is it to do a little research on the matter for yourself, i mean if your that serious about it theres information to enlighten yourself with a quick google search or library reading.

That's because society thinks athletes achieve their success 100% with genetics. They don't wanna admit their athletes cycle.

Jay Cutler throws everyone under the bus. I remember he did an interview saying "I can take a drug test right now and come out clean, but look me. It's not fair, but it's the truth".

This is genetically impossible.
