I have Curly hair, and I have to straighten it to get the look I like. A few years a go, i had a Faux-hawk and my hair got trained to stand up, even without junk in it. So, I was wondering that if I keep my hair straightend long enough, would it become more "natrual" straight? Or is that possible? :o

And yes, I know I probably spelt Natrual wrong. -.-

I wish. I look like Kevin Keegan most of the time my hair is so curly, and straightening it doesn't do much for me. I have been recommended mousse a few times, so I'll give that a shot sometime.

You'd think Mousse would just give it a stiff "straight" look? :P like,, it's just stiff. :o

No I straighten my hair and from what I've learned is if it's thick then once it gets longer it will have weight to somewhat straighten itself

Oh and Btw, using "Straighting Bam" on your hair before you blow dry it, helps, then straight iron it. it works, but jsut time consuming.

I don't think so, I'm the only lad who has long hair in the school. I don't think girls would be very attracted to me just because of my hair TBH

I get the feeling most girls kind of ignore/don't like my presence because I'm kind of quiet and keep to myself. Most of the lads in my school are very loud/chatty and I don't fit into that group at all. People tend to just judge you on that. I'm not really too bothered anyway, I don't see myself ever becoming more than friends with anyone in my year at school.

Be a real man and buzz it down to your scalp. Or if you are a dandy and need to fopp-till-you-drop, then there are chemical treatments that straighten curly hair semi-permanently. Granted, they are not healthy for the hair.

No. If so then I would have put that on my hair by now. :P You can get a perm but chances are you aren't going to pay what women usually pay for perms and seeing it's a month by month thing... And guys should care about their hair. Girls aren't going to talk to guys who look like they styled their hair with a vacuum extension.

Not to care what they look like. It's uncommon for a dude to straighten (or curl) their hair. If they don't like having curly hair, they keep it short so it's not an issue.

I would like the opposite. My hair is straight as straight can get. Think long haired hair bands of the 80's if it were actually long. No curve to it whatsoever. I don't want tight curls, just a bit of wave to it to make it easier to fix and style.

But as to your question, it's not possible unless your DNA changes. The only way for that to happen is if it were to fall out and grew back such as is the case with Cancer patients whose hair sometimes grows back a different color and straightness. Otherwise, you're just going to have to straighten and I'll just have to deal with ridiculously straight hair.

codymcclain14

I've used a straight iron set to 180-190 degrees celcius, pretty much every day of the week for the past two years, and my hair is as curly as ever whenever I leave the shower. Letting the hair slow-dry, or using a blowdryer, with or without mousse or heat-protective aerosols, nothing left a lasting effect.

As for getting a perm, despite the name of the treatment, it isn't permanent.

One guy in the thread theorized earlier, that if it grows long enough, the added weight would help to pull the strands down, giving it a more straight look. Might wanna' try that out, although I don't know if it works beyond in theory, since I never went "all out" in terms of my hairlength (emo/scene length/styIe. instead of goth-length.

It's not that big of an issue really dude. If you're adamant about avoiding using a straight iron every day, just avoid washing your hair every day, you wont have to straighten it out the day after if you compensate with a quality hairspray.

I think they look fine with it... I can't really tell the difference between white and black straight perms. But they cost quite a bit if you don't want to do it yourself so I wouldn't really recommend it. I would take caution though with the irons, though. It could damage your hair if you don't care for it correctly. Since I have black hair I think my results are a bit different so might want to listen to the other girls on this site for advice since they probably have way longer hair to treat.
