Is it possible to really be 'friends' after getting friend zoned?

Seems like every time it's happened to me, the girl and I drifted apart or there was awkwardness when we talked. People I've essentially friend zoned still act weird and goofy around me, so my question is this; knowing that one member of the party had/does or always will want more than friendship, is it possible for the two to maintain mere friendship?

It's possible but it takes a certain type of person really. Both sides have to be willing for that firendship rather than ever hoping for something more.

Yes if you're willing to accept it.

yeah, exactly! those who keep at it and fail to accept it will never actually be friends because they are always wanting more.

I've been in many different "friend zone" situations, and all of them have had different results. So varied that I can't come up with any consistant theory or hypothesis.

I can say though, generally if both parties are straight up about everything, things work out better.

I've done that to my best friend before and we still remained best friends afterwards. We've drifted apart now that we go to different colleges, but it's been years that we've known each other. He did end up confessing some sort of romantic feelings for me a second time about a year afterwards, but he had a girlfriend then making the circumstances preeeeetty different.

Isn't that what being "friend zoned" means? If you cant be friends be friends with a girl you liked then move on. There's plenty of fish in the sea.

Only if you're willing to accept it and drop all feelings for her in a love sense.

It's tough, but I suppose it could happen. I know from personal experience that it created a rift between me and a friend. I had heard through the grapevine that she though we were too good of friends to ever date, and in a jealous teenage rage I decided it was best if we just weren't friends and avoided her in hopes that someday there would be enough distance between us to start dating :P

Nope, never happened for me. Hitting "friend zone" usually just ends up in us being acquaintances.

It's all about sex right? No guy really treasures a woman's mind enough to become Ducky from Pretty in Pink, they obsess, they stalk over the Lady Lumps. So the obvious way out is to satiate that part. Have sex with other women, and you will care less that you have not had sex with the stubborn one.

Simple.

Yes otherwise many guys would have no female friends. Hurts like hell though to be friendzoned.

T___T I've met males who bring as much drama to the table as women. Believe what you'd like though.

It's possible but hard. But alot of times either the person hasn't really gotten over their feelings or the other one thinks they haven't so they try to play games.

And it's the nature of men to ignore this as they wonder how they will get into said woman's pants.

no, after being friend zoned after being in a relationship is usually not a good idea. Someone still has feelings for the other, and it becomes awkward. I know from experience. I've Told this to an old "friend with benefits" before, but she still insists that we stay friends. But I say, no, I'm not going backwards in friendship. And it has become awkward between us lol, just like I said
