[QUOTE="ferrari2001"] Dude stop trolling! We know OT is easy to troll, We've known for a while. hahaokaay

I think it's hilarious that a thread intended completely to troll, has actually sparked pretty well thought out answers and a good discussion. Mission Failed TC

I have not failed mere mortal. I have brought up discussions that are well educated beyond your comprehension. If you duly note I am actually the most intelligent poster in this thread. Where you may see me as a troll, I am actually a life counselor.

And I'm Willie Nelson! Would you like some drugs my friend!

he still loves me? good, because I was worried that I might not get into heaven for not believing in him..... oh what thats what the bible says so he doesn't love us...... we worship him for a slim chance of getting into heaven......basically.

and it is I, who feel sorry for you.

I don't believe for a second that God wants, needs, or demands our worship. Humans are pretty damn ego centric if they think they've even scratched the surface of understanding a concept as unfathomable and vast as "God". People thousands of years ago couldn't do it, and people today can't. It's just something we are going to know when we die. In the meantime I think the point is to just experience, learn, and evolve.

I agree 100% there. I think all of the world's religions are severely outdated and holding our society back in so many ways. We believe God acts and treats us the way we act and treat ourselves. We give God a moral system that we base off what someone said he wants us to do. I don't think God gives a damn hoot about our personal little lives (not to say he doesn't love us as one of his many creations). We are just tiny cogs in a VERY HUGE machine, that needs every little cog to function properly I believe.

What if people were never presented to religion in remote areas of the planet and they lived out a good life? Or even before when there was no religion around?

I keep getting banned on christian forums because I ask them questions that make them question their own faith.... funny how christians are so unlike christ.

hahaokaay

So what have you gained through questioning these Christians about their faith? I sense a superiority complex in your posts. Maybe that stems from your nurturing time spent with your mother as a child or lack there of. Do you need a hug

so asking people questions makes me have a superiority complex? I dont see the connection. apparently anyone who ask question about jesus is a heathen and must be crazy! sounds like something the church in the 1600's believed.

so are you christian? or what?

I am me. I believe there is a force to all existence and creation that nobody can ever understand and should accept, while not basing an entire society around someone's believed ideals. I humble myself (but do not worship) out of love, gratitude, and respect for any supreme being that is capable of producing such a beautiful Universe and I admire his work every day. I don't believe this being judges, or changes. I think God set the ball rolling on this Universe and is letting everything play out as it will. If humans are destined to be smashed into oblivion, or consumed by the sun (if we even make it that far) then that is what it is. Acceptance is a practice I'm learning slowly as I move through this crazy transient life. I know in my heart there is something bigger that none of us can understand, and society has made it's best attempt since the rise of civilization.

Now to the point of Christ. I believe a man existed thousands of years ago, that lived a humble serving existence trying nothing but to guide, love, and care for others. I believe this man performed acts that were so incomprehensible to what people knew to be 'normal' that people then deified him. I don't believe he wanted people to worship him as a God. He wanted to show them, guide them, say "Follow me, for I have found the way". Not follow my rules or my Lordship, but follow my path and find peace, joy, and love. Find connection to something that has been so very difficult for humanity to connect to since the rise of self consciousness, and the creation of mindself. I believe this God aware man was so radical to that age, that utter fear cause him to be crucified, and that this man rose from the grave and did something that people have talked about since. Beyond that, I'm agnostic since God is something we can't know, and obviously aren't mean't to know until some later point (if at all). But I will try and "Follow" Jesus and live as he lived, caring for my fellow human and trying to help the people the Universe has connected me to. Whether or not that's enough for God, who knows, but it's the best I have to offer.

Nope. No superiority complex found in those words. LOL

apparently anyone who ask question about jesus is a heathen and must be crazy!

Who called you a heathen or crazy? I know I didn't.

Not only do you find yourself as being far superior than others, but your on the defense over a discussion that you initiated.

Why don't you try to disprove God's existence through some scientific study that you intelligently put together on your own. When you accomplish this task then post it for all to see.

So the bible says you have to accept jesus as savior and you get into heaven. then whose to say someone who is complete psycho murderer who kills a bunch of people and molest children then burning there bodies and then sets churchs on fires repents doesn't get into heaven? if they know they are going to be electrocuted, two days before hand(hell an hour before) they could say "jesus I believe in you all along!" and bam he gets into heaven and was like "GOT YOU!" and does the same thing there?

Where as someone who lives a good life helping others and volunteering to help those poor helpless needy children goes to hell because they were never inspired to believe in god? They never once got reached out to or had a religious expierence. so its not their own fault they go to hell, but since these are the rules person A goes to heaven while person B goes to hell.

and thats why I am not a christian.

(forgot to ask a question) so what do you think about all this?

hahaokaay

i figured you only had to embrace Jesus' ideals, not believe solely in his ressurection etc. The Catholic church may have said that in the past simply to enforce their own little reigime.
