No.

The reality is all comedy massly produced these days have many elements one could find offensive. I guess vulgarity sells.

Setsa

BINGO! You really think people are going to go to a movie for laughs, then say "Oh my, that bloke is demeaning _____s!" As long as tickets are sold and people find it funny, it doesn't matter who the casualties are : /

I see some people laugh over other people's misery/pain/joke.

Then again, if they are the ones talked about they end up feeling offended.

Of course Bruno will be an offensive film, but people should not take it so personally and be overly sensative about it. Bruno is not making fun of a single person, so it shouldn't be personal. Bruno is kinda making fun of a whole picture. So if someone really thinks something's wrong with that, then maybe there's something wrong with humanity.

I think the guy who wrote that article was being offensive. He basically said, "If you think he's funny, you're stupid."

I'm far from offended by Bruno. It's all a joke and I see no reason to overreact and make a big deal about it.

What's really funny is the author bashes Bruno, but then praises South Park...

Yeah, I got a nice laugh at that, too. South Park does the same exact thing but very poorly, I might add.

I don't think its offensive but more of a social commentary. In Borat you got to see how different people reacted to certain situations. One of my favorite parts is when he is in the rodeo about to sing the national anthem and he says "The Khazak people support America's War of Terror" and everyone cheers, cearly people hearing what they want to hear.

I think it goes to show the author takes it VERY, VERY personally.

He doesn't care if it's making fun of other people, but when it's targetted towards his own group of people, time to ***** about it.

That seems to be the case as one of the comments on the article states that the author is gay Even if he is, there's no reason for him to sit there and complain about it. Cohen isn't personally picking on him or other gay people, he's making a joke. And if the author can't laugh at a stereotype, then he just has a bad sense of humor.

Bruno is what it is, Cohen purposelly wants to make a commotion, and i like it because it gets out of our "comfortable" shell, I think everyone of us would feel ackward around his characters because they are strangers, they are exaggerated people with obsessions and they lack "societal" norm in terms of conversation and situation.

Bruno is not designed to insult others, the comedy is designed to bring out the prejudice and the ridiculous ideas people hold. Borat was the same way, it was all about the reactions.

Good for you I guess. My 5 year old does not.

I don't think it's premature at all. You don't have to see the movie to know if it will be offensive to you or not. I wouldn't go around telling other people not to see it. That's their choice, but as for me, I already know without a shadow of a doubt I am not going to see this movie. It's not my kind of movie.

I have to admit that I don't like it when gay people are portrayed as stereotypical queens. But even I laughed at most of the trailer I saw. And it will highlight the discrimination and hatred gay people face in many quarters of the US.

Yeah its amazing how people are still so conservative about it. I remember when Sean Penn made his acceptance speech for Milk he mentioned there were people on the way to the Academy Awards protesting against the film. Geez...
