Well, I'm not exactly working in a coal mine every morning. In a corporate environment, everyone, men and women, are dressed to impress and look professional.Traditionally men were not concerned with outward appearance because they were busy working/contributing to society/culture. Women were the people that focused on appearance such that they could attract a man, which was (is) their primary purpose.
So yes, I would say it is "unmanly", not to say that it isn't socially acceptable in your society.
