As long as you're dividing your age in half and then add seven, you should be fine dating girls 4/5 years younger, as long as they're 18.

Can someone tell me where this comes from and the logic behind it?

The rule is half your age plus 7. So for you 23/2=11.5+7=18.5 So it's ok if you date someone that's 18.5 years old. So 4 to 5 years is ok. That's why nobody blinks an eye that Ashton Kutcher is married to Demi Moore, who is 15 years older than Ashton.

What?.... that just stupidly logical. :)

there's a line. If you were to be 20 and dating 15 year old girls, that's gross. If you're both adults, then I think it's fine.

My woman is three years younger then I and we've never thought it was a issue. The only time something like that is a issue is when one is 18 and the other is younger. Stupid law.

23 to 19 isn't really that bad. Once you start getting older the age difference matters less and less. It's when it's like 23 and 16 that it's a bit weird even if it is still legal (well, here it is anyway)

It depends on your stage at life. Obviously a 16 year old shouldn't be with an 11 year old but a 35 year old with a 30 year old is fine.

He said 23 and 19.

It's ok then since they both aren't minors

as you get older and older, an age difference of 4/5 years becomes less and less significant. So at 23, you're just at the point where a 4/5 year age difference doesn't matter that much. Just make sure you aren't picking up older high school girls because that can get a little sketchy.

i have no luck with girls of my age.. (23) n i always get to know girls that younger than me..is not because i look for them..it just happens..im doing it wrong? what do you guys think? does age really matter?

Tessellation
Right now im seeing a 33 year old and i am 26. Thats a seven year age gap. Being 25 and aiming younger is fine all the way down to 16 i reckon depending on maturity of said partners.

Only if they're single bro.

Loco_Live
?What dose that matter?

Not at all, unless you're like 15 or something. Everyone has different opinions on morals, but to me, the relationship and the love is more important than your age.

My father is 5 fives older than my mother. As long as it is legal there is no problem dating someone younger.

4/5 years younger? so she's born the same year as you or just one year younger, I think that's alright.

Physically, emotionally and intellectually, we have most of our development before the age of 22 or so. That's why as you get older, it becomes less and less of a big deal to have a small age gap when dating. There's much more of a difference between an 18 year old and a 14 year old than there is between a 23 year old and a 19 year old. At your age, I would say you're probably okay in dating girls a bit younger than you. I would strongly suggest you not go below 18 years of age, and probably try and make sure they've graduated high school as well. Remember, there's still a fair bit of development taking place during the college years of 18-22.
