well its been my 2nd day in college so far....and today we had to give a brief summary about ourselves infront of the class.....and there was this one guy that sounded very homosexual ( im 100% that he is a homosexual). Everyone tried there hardest not to laugh...even myself...i had to keep my head down. I personally dont have ANYTHING against homosexuals.....but is it wrong to laugh at how they speak?

my idol Louis CK explains it pretty good in what i am trying to say.....

I'm friends with a person who speaks like one would think a homosexual speaks, but he's not gay I don't think it's wrong to laugh at all so as long as you're laughing at the voice and not the person.

I know more straight people who have the gay accent than homosexuals. But anyways, it's not really polite obviously, but it's really hard not to laugh when you find something funny...

Well, there's something wrong with generalizing an entire group... other than that if its funny, then laugh, unless you're in danger of hurting someone's feelings. :?

Having a lisp and being effeminate does not mean a person is inherently homosexual. Many "metrosexuals," as it were, force a lisp and act effeminately to make themselves stand out from the rest of the crowd wanting to be noticed... and many of them are perfectly straight.

I am pretty good at forcing a lisp too but I do it to be funny, some people seem to do it to be someone their not... and some people don't have any control over it. Unless you know they are trying to be funny then you shouldn't laugh. Don't feel bad that you do find it funny because it is, just show them some respect by keeping it to yourself, just in case they can't help it.

It is annoying how some homosexuals do that.

I mean why would they want to fit into the stereotype most homosexuals are trying to eliminate?

And I never understood why they dress with clothes which resemble girly ones; being homosexual makes you more of a woman?? WTH is this logic?

That's why homosexuals overaly have a hard time being accepted by most people. Because of the stupid homosexuals that exist unfortunately and give "normal" homosexuals a bad image.

No, cause when some one speaks "gey" they do it on purpose, thus meaning the have to be laughed at. I don;t know a single person who likes people speaking like that.

I would have found it insulting if people didn't dare to make jokes about my homosexuality because homosexuals are a minority. That would make me feel like an outcast, I can just as much be ridiculed as anybody else.

Really, some homosexuals can't help speaking like that. Some of my gay friends are perfectly 'normal' but speak really gayish :D (I also make fun of them haha). Oh and you don't want to see me throw a ball, I just can't do it in a manly way. I don't look, talk or act like a stereotypical homosexual, but I give it away when I throw a ball haha. Seriously, I have tried it many times but I simply cannot do it.

Of course not you silly willy!! It's super duper!!

All joking aside. It is a huge stereo type to say that all homosexual males talk like that. I have met lots of gays in my community and you would never know they were. Not one spoke or acted effiminate.

The reason you think all gays speak in that manner is because the homosexual guys that you meet act and speak like your average male so you don't even realize they are gay.

Most gay guys don't actually speak like that. But, what the hell? Stereotypes are so much fun.
