In my opinion? Yes. I was looking at various wikis involving his albums and heard some of his great songs I haven't heard (Diamonds From Sierra Leone  OMG so good), and looking at all his inspirations from the weirdest bands and rap groups.
I saw some parts where he had 75% of an album done and scrapped it and started over because it wasn't good enough. When one of his albums got leaked, he used it as an oppurtunity to go back and re-write and polish over his songs by adding new instruments, samples, a whole bunch of stuff.
He doesn't sell out to mainstream, he goes where he wants with his album and is just amazing at it. Sure he revolves a lot around "arrogance is bliss" and often gets in trouble for it (2009 VMAs *ahem*), but he puts that arrogance into music so well and makes it better. In short, he gets his will across beautifully.
In 2004, when gangsta rap was prevalent, he released the masterpiece The College Dropout. It had art, soul, composure and more in it. Just great. And this album is just pure genius, best of last year:

Oh, and one more thing. In my opinion, he is one of the best, if not the best, beat makers ever. I think that haters of him or rap should at least agree on this, he's so amazingly diverse and powerful with his beats, something that I think the other rap albums of 2010 lacked (Recovery was pop-centric, Man on The Man 2 used more heavy, depressing beats with some really good exceptions, and Thank Me Later actually used diverse beats, but mostly relied on lyrics because the beats weren't too great. I am missing some big ones like Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, and Rick Ross' album, but add to this then)
So is he one of the best ever? What's his best and worst album? Favorite song?
OH, and please add plenty of "Yo _____, imma let you finish and all, but _____ had one of the best ______ of all time!" jokes!
