If I were you OP I would just try and hit that before she goes to Australia. I mean you certainly find her attractive which is obvious. Even if it all goes well and as planned, you're just going to end up having blown a s*** load of money for when she eventually hooks up with some Aussie.

Week is definetly to soon, but define ask a girl out. If you meen date then thats perfectly fine, if you mean entering a relationship then strongly advise against it. If you already her digits then a phone call to setup a date is normal. Don't fret, she won't get a boyfriend in 1 week.

You may feel differently since this is the daughter of someone you know, but seriously just do it. Say you enjoyed your time at the dinner, and you would like to hang out with her.

Just ask her to a movie or something. It's too early to ask her to be your girlfriend, but that doesn't mean you can't take her out on a date.
