If 2 people believe differently then this can cause all kinds of problems in the relationship; especially if they decide to have children. One person may say cuss words a lot and that could be offensive to the other person. When it comes time to tell a child about your beliefs then which side gets to instill their beliefs in the child? Believing in the same religion makes is so much easier to get along and make it through life together. There's a lot more I could say but hopefully you get my point.

I think it depends on who the people are. I personally don't care on that point.

For me, not really. True love relationship comes from the heart, not by some agreement of religion or beliefs.

I refuse to marry a religious nut. Most religious people I come by are crazy. But if she was very hot and didn't take religion as seriousl, then I'd definitely go out with her.

It's not important to me, but I can understand why others would feel differently.

It depends on the religion, but in general, no.

I use to hold religion high on my standards for a relationship, but now I'm not religious. I believe religion ruins relationships.

It used to be for me, but I figure that it doesn't matter if I'm ever truly in love with someone religious.

Religion is important in a relationship. About as important men are in a lesbian porn scene.

Depends on the people. A believer and non believer can have a great relationship, but if the person who doesn't believe is the type of person who mocks and ridicules a persons beliefs, or the person who believes tries to push their beliefs on others, then the relationship cannot work.

~-~It's called dodging a bullet. If two people's beliefs are that different and / or strong then they would just have troubles later in life. You really should be on the same page with the person you're with when it comes to strong opinions. If neither of you care about it then it doesn't matter as much. Still would be better if you agreed on that kind of stuff. I for one would just try to convert them. What am I going to do, kill the relationship? Flat out braking up with them isn't too good for a relationship either.~-~

If each partner loves the other enough, a contrast in religious believes shouldn't matter.
