[QUOTE="Fried_Shrimp"][QUOTE="GazaAli"]American culture is slowing down, but American values are spreading like wild fire.GazaAli
You mean British values, since we abolished the slave trade prior to America (1833>1865), we introduced universal suffrage before America (1928>1965), and we had National Health Care before America(1946>2010)...

Not this kind of values. I'm talking about the values that define the US, like freedom of speech, tolerance toward homosexuality, secularism...etc

You mean like this?

Capitalism combined with globalization is bringing about the end of the golden age of America itself imo.

or i'd argue... it's extending it's life 10 fold..... English the language of currency thanks to the British and now the American's hold it. It's taught in schools across the world, and in some countries it is a REQUIRED language to learn.. and the economic system that helped boom America into the superpower it is today is being adopted and ratified by the vast majority of countries on the planet. for instance in some cases American movies can still trump Japanese movies in their own home markets (Japan) by large margins. just because there is a diversity in the rising powers on the globe doesn't mean it's the end of the United States's golden age...

1.The spread of English as a global language is really due to the British, since they gave North America and every other continent (excluding Antarctica) on the Earth the language. The U.S. definately helped in the 20th century though. 2. There was no "economic sytem" that made the U.S. into a superpower. It was the fact that the U.S. was the only country involved in WWII that did not have its homeland and industry devastated. Most of the U.S.S.R (including Moscow) were left intact after the war, which allowed them to rise as a Superpower as well. 3. The U.S. certainly isn't "dead" but I believe it reached the apex of its power during the 20th century.

Evolution.

Like the dinosaur.

Look out that window.

You had your time. This future is our world, the future is our time.

yes. Overall America is in decline although certain parts of American culture will continue to be popular globally.
