Is the show Maury Povich fake?

So I've been home recovering from the flu while watching day time tv. So just curious is Maury fake? I mean the way most of them act on there is unbelievable/

I don't know but the audience annoys me a lot with their OTT reactions.

Parts of it have to be staged in my opinion, though I think some of it is legit.

Oh yeah easily. I'm sure some of them do that show just to put it on their acting resume.

"Now if you'll turn your attention to the tape here, look how convinced I am that this random man is cheating on me with this other woman who is supposed to be my sister who also looks nothing like me".

The contestants may be real but a lot of the reactions and confrontations are staged.

I always believed it was real when I was watching way back when. I liked the makeover shows like "I used to be a geek but look at me now!" Also this cracks me up-
