Is there a heaven and hell for animals?

What happens to animals when they die? Humans can tell between right and wrong whereas animals can not, so when they die do they just get a free pass into heaven? Because wouldn't that be a bit "unfair" so to speak, as humans have to work their way into heaven.

I've always wondered about this.

My dog most certainly has a personality unique to him. All my pets do.

In Islam children are completely innocent. Only when someone reaches the age of reason will they be accountable for their actions. Usually that's around 16 years old.

Too much has to be assumed in order to answer this question. First, you have to assume that there is a heaven and hell. Then, that there is such a thing as a soul, and that based off of the actions of the host, is sent to either place upon the time of demise. Last, that animals would possess a soul and that an all-powerful deity would judge it when the animal expires. So to answer your question, no one knows, and if anyone tells you that they do, they're lying.
