So has anyone ever seen a movie that they tried to hate and really didn't want to see, but ended up really enjoying it?

Not really. I don't see the point in watching a movie with the desire to hate it. I've had expectations of disliking a film, and have been pleasantly surprised by it in the past (i.e. Public Enemies).

It would have to be Inglorious Bastards. Darn that Christoph Waltz for making his character so enjoyable to watch.

No. With how damn expensive tickets are now, I only go if I know I'm going to like it.

Princess Diaries.

I remember being forced to watch that with my cousins who were mostly girls and thought it was going to suck. It ended up being good.

The Saw series. I wanted to hate it so bad for some reason. I fell into it and watched all of them in one sitting.

Jennifer's body. I was like "this is just going to be absolute crap, just like the majority of other teen-horror movies" but I was actually pleasantly surprised, especially by the ending. I kind of thought that was the best part of the movie. not something horror-fanatics will think is all that great, but it was better than I expected.

Not that I can recall but I have had movies that didn't interest me in the least or ones that I thought would be disasters that I ended up enjoying quite a bit. The most recent examples I can think of are "Supertroopers" and Disney's "Enchanted".

Why would you try to hate a movie?... I have never sat down and with the intention of hating a movie before putting in the DVD :? That said I kinda guess that you mean a movie everyone else hates yet you enjoyed? well the first thing that comes to mind is Kickboxer, I don't know why people hate that movie but I loved it when I first watched it with my dad and still to this day enjoy the move... it could just be nostalgia.

I don't think I have gone into a film trying to hate, I have however gone in with low expectations or having no interest. I watched Robinson Crusoe on Mars and thought it was going to be a so bad its good B-Movie, but I ended up truly loving it.

Twilight was better than the book, but it still sucked regardless. New Moon was awful, but it was hilarious. I mean Bella is like completey psychotic and out of her mind it was just making me laugh so hard. It was just so priceless to hear mother's in the movie theater making "ohhh" sounds when that werewolf boy took off his shirt. I never laughed so hard in a theater in all my life.

When I'm pre-set to irrationally hate something with a stereotypical prejudice, or with lack of evidence or research to back it up beforehand - I don't back down. Anything less would be heresy.

And if I did end up liking it, I lie. I wouldn't want to upset the status quo of things.
