Come on, mozilla firefox is the best, specially firefox 4, its the most convenient browser ever...you get great addons, you can customize it, you can easily access any site you visit by just typing some word that identifies the specific address of what you want to visit (so for example if I want to get into this thread directly without going to gamespot.com forums off topic, I just need to type "reason browser mfx" on the address bar and I get the address there)

I tried using chrome, but its soooo terrible, and the same goes for safari.

I hate the people who say "OH I USE GOOGLE CHROME BECAUSE IT LOADS SITES 5% FASTER THAN FIREFOX!!! TROLOLOL" seriously, I have never even noticed that difference in speed, I suppose you could notice that if you had 256kb connection...but hell, I think that even with that much bandwith, the difference would be less than 1 second.

so seriously, why to use other browsers at all?

I wonder who can fit more of a website into their screen? Oh wait, I can. Hey, why does opening a tab make your screen smaller? Oh, right, 'cause you're not using chrome. Lets put it this way. At BCIT, studying Computer Systems Technology, all the students and teachers use Chrome. I think they know what they're doing.

It's also open source and the Mozilla foundation is non-profit. Breaking the browser up just makes it that more worth it.

i don't know about loading pages but on my notebook, it opens noticeably faster. in fact, the reason why i switched to chrome on my notebook, is because i saw a friend's notebook load chrome faster than mine loading FF (while his notebook is inferior in performance). haven't tested on my desktop though.

Mozilla was constantly crashing on me because of the newest version of flash, i tried tons of things, and eventually had to just abandon it for Chrome.

Browsers are almost exactly the same with a few unique features. For me, the reason I use FF is because of the location bar (what OP described; seriously, that thing is epic) and the customization. Apart from those features, the only way I could tell if I was using a certain browser would be the design.

Sure, you can hit F11 and lose all your buttons until you hit it again, but I'd rather not even have to do that. As for Tabs not making the screen smaller. How do you manage to do that? Tabs have their own row in the toolbar, do they not? That takes up space, and makes the screen smaller. Unless of course you're actually using the option to ALWAYS show the tab bar, and needlessly take up space on your screen, even if you only have a single tab open.

Just tried to download it, and I did notice in the screenshot that it seems to be using a tab bar similar to chrome (but still has an entire row dedicated to merely the words "Firefox"), and I was interested in checking it out. Unfortunately, Firefox crashed when I tried to download the update.

I use IE and Firefox - IE for most stuff, Firefox for my browsing for the female form. Chrome is functional enough, but I've grown weary of Google's presence in goddamn everything. Safari, well, I'm not even sure why it exists on the PC.

Chrome is more pleasing to the eye, much faster and more stable. If you think the difference in speed isn't noticeable you've obviously never used them on a netbook/slow laptop.

This. I actually don't mind whether I use Chrome, FF, or Opera, but I prefer Opera. I don't even have a real reason for preferring Opera, I just do. So I could also ask you the same question: why would anybody use anything but Opera? or why would anybody use anything but Chrome? Each browser has unique features, and expecting everybody to only like Firefox the best is silly.

Chrome has a better base than FF but worse memory usage when open lots of tabs and FF has better addons. If you just want a simple basic browser chrome is the best, if you want something advanced FF is the best.

I'm using Chrome, on my last set of ati drivers, FireFox would bug them, cause my video card to run (while underclocked.. 157/300 core/mem) at 99% and running 10c above normal, as well as losing a bit of overall performance until I restarted, maybe it's fixed now, but I'm gonna stick with chrome, fast, no bugs, never crashes.

The Firefox row is the tab bar. I just did a side-by-side comparison and FF has a good .5 cm extra vertical space than Chrome, even though that space really is insignifcant.

On Mac the tabs don't take up toolbar space. There already is a reserved space for it above the URL box.

I don't get the argument that Chrome has better performance and uses less CPU. The way that Chrome runs is that every tab is essentially a new instance of Chrome running. For me, opening a second tab on Chrome uses more CPU than having five tabs open in Firefox. And my Firefox is running a ton of extensions, while Chrome is stock.

Firefox, just crashes for me, and feels slower than chrome.

Plus chrome has the web store which i like.

Plus sync so i can have the same browser experience on both pc's

Chrome opens faster to, plus chrome never says another instance of chrome is running please restart

Chrome FTW

I use Google Chrome. Not necessarily because it's better, it just suites my needs better. I don't use any addons, and whenever a page is loading in FF4 things lag for some reason, like when a page is loading and I move the FF window around the monitor it skips.

Edit: Chrome also has easily the best address bar. The way it doubles as a search engine query is implemented better than any other browser in my opinion. The new IE does it well too, but it's still not as good.

ok im really tired of seeing people posting that firefox crashes and crashes and that its full of bugs...I bet that it only crashed once for you guys and like 2 years ago with firefox 2...so now because of that you say it crashes every 5 seconds...i've never met a person who had those problems with firefox... also, comparing im feeling lucky to the address name bar search is probably the saddest thing i've ever heard...yeah...keep using your im feeling lucky...im pretty sure is completly innefective in front of the FF counterpart  and you guys see? FF does fits more in the screen and the screen doesnt makes anything when opening tabs, and the button saying "firefox" is at the same level of the tabs bar. also, even if it wouldnt fit more screen, why the hell would you complain? its like a 5 cm difference, what the hell are you going to fit there? again I suppose its a notable difference if you have some 12 inch screen...

I have 3 gigs of RAM and an (admittedly old) dual-core laptop CPU. Chrome is noticeably faster. It uses more resources if you have several tabs open at once but the user experience is definitely smoother. Firefox doesn't really crash but adobe reader and flash would often crash, which hasn't happened on Chrome for me yet. I only changed a couple of months ago though.

I haven't ever used Chrome. How secure is it? I really couldn't care less about speed. I am more interested in it being secure. I have heard Google shares your search history. Is this true? I want to try Chrome out, but I don't want an unsecure browser.

Chrome is faster. Hence I use Chrome. And yes, it there is a noticeable difference in speed.
