Thats a pretty high price for that guitar. I saw it at Guitar Center for a 100...and its not that great of a guitar. I would recommed a Epiphone Les Paul Standard at the least.

It's of poor quality. Especially the amp. The amp is the most important part to sound, and that one is TERRIBLE. Add a poor guitar on top and even Hendrix would sould like crap on that.

I'm sure it would be fine to learn on, but when you get better I'm sure you'll want to get something better. If you spend more money now it might last you a bit longer. On the other hand, you don't want to spend a lot of money and not stick with playing guitar...

Don't say poor equipment means people won't want to play on it. That's bull. Sure, you'll sound like crap, but that won't really deter anyone from wanting to play.

It is a good guitar to learn on, but I would eventually upgrade to a $300+ guitar in the future. Don't get a real Gibson Les Paul until you have been playing for years... lol.

Exactly! I had a crappy guitar for a while got good and bought a $700 Signature Les Paul and love it, I can make it sound like a $700 guitar. Your next guitar should be at least a semi-pro guitar.

It's what I have. I'm fine with it but I'm gonna get something better soon.

note: The strings that come with the shipped Special II aren't good. Replace 'em.

I wasn't saying that poor equipment means people won't want to play it. I've just had friends that go out and purchase expensive gear and not stick with playing the instrument. If you really want to learn, of course you are going to play anything you can get your hands on.:D

I have that package, but with a black SG instead of a red Les Paul.

I wanna get this guitar.
