21 years old and never had a girlfriend?

Depends. If you never met someone you're interested in, then no, it's not really pathetic. Either you have really high standards or you just weren't comfortable around other people. If you ever saw a girl that you liked and she walked up to you, said "Hey," and you shriveled up in a corner and cried, then yeah, that's pathetic. RheikenThis exactly word for word.
Dude, I'm gay and I'd had several girlfriends by 21 :?xaosEveryone knows women love gay men.

They thought they had someone they loved, and you played them like cards. Not a chance, I have no interest in *** hagssoo true, gay men has 5 or more female friends who will claim that his their best friend, they even kiss each other in the cheeks.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for in life. If having a girlfriend isn't or hasn't been a top priority, then I wouldn't call it "pathetic" that you haven't had one yet. Everyone matures and seeks those strong emotional bonds at different times, if at all. Ultimately you have to determine what is most important to you or what makes you most happy. Is it financial success? Going to school? Having a good job or career? Having good friendships? Having fun? Having good relationships with your family? Owning nice things? Feeling intellectually stimulated? I could go on, but I think you get the point. If having a girlfriend isn't one of the top priorities, then I don't think that you are any worse or any better than someone who is different.
Even if having a girlfriend is a top priority of yours - which is fine - I don't necessarily think that you're "pathetic." I'm having a hard time justifying that word anyway. I guess I just think that 21 is still really quite young. There's such an emphasis on losing your virginity and having bragging rights and all of that, but honestly, don't buy into the hype. Your sex life is your own business. Share it if you want, but ultimately it's personal, and everyone is ready at different times. No one is better or worse in that regard.
I'd also like to add that the vast majority of relationships started before age 21 end up failing anyway. High school relationships rarely amount to much more than just that. Of course there are the odd exceptions here or there. I suppose they do give you experience, but I still don't think that they're worth much. I had a few relationships in high school, and I don't feel like I'm really that much better off than if I'd not had any relationships in high school.

I know.. I was belittling his achievement by saying that it's easy for gay men to get women. Jokingly, of course.I was in rural Alabama through high school and it made my life easier[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="Pffrbt"]

Why would that be easier than not having a girlfriend?

not pathetic, but a little sad. You shouldnt be afraid of them, just get out there and talk to a few cuties. OR just take the easy route and try free online dating sites. warning though, some are scams, but a few are actually free.
There was this one girl that seemed to like me, and she asked if I had a girlfriend. I wanted to be funny so I said, "No, but it's alright because I have my dog." She did not understand the joke and took it the wrong way.
Never saw her again.
Nah, a good friend if mine is 19 and gorgeous, but the only person she's ever been with is my scuzzy friend.
Sometimes it's best to wait things out and land a good one.
