Had about 150 in total; not bad considering the rain and cold.

my family never had much trick-or-treaters come to our house since the house is probably about 500 feet or so away from the road. Last year most of the state was without power so there were no trick or treaters on Halloween, though some did show up at my uncle's house the Saturday after Halloween, when power was back on. It took my Uncle by surprise, he went outside and saw trick-or-treaters in his yard so he got surprised and yelled "it's frickin' trick or treaters". Then a few minutes later (he was back inside now) he heard a knock on the door and thought it was more trick-or-treaters, but it was actually his tenant coming to pay the rent.

There's a lot of trick or treaters here, but the decline might be because of overprotective parents who are afraid of: poisoned candy, child getting lost, or getting hit by a car.

I think it is slowly dying, but I will always trick or treat when possible.

Seriously, who would want to send their kids out to the homes of strangers to get candy this day and age?

d_parker

This day and age isn't any worse than the day and age when it was more popular.

Yeah I only got around 10 kids and been going down every year. It's kinda sad because I remember trick treating a lot and I remember their being a lot of kids when I was younger.

[QUOTE="PiscesChick93"]

I used to love trick-or-treating and there was a lot of people who did it when I was younger, but last night, not one trick-or-treater! Waste of money buying sweets.

Overlord93

Halloween is just an excuse to buy sweets 'just in case'

Haha - "I am so annoyed no-one came so I can give these sweets away." (eats from sweets bowl) :P

I'll just bring left over sweets to uni and give it to friends there.

Had about 100 this year. First time giving out candy outside of my hometown where I'm used to about 15 kids tops. Was kinda tired by the end of the night.

I'm guessing because compared to way back whenever parents are a lot more paranoid given all the abductions and abuse lately. If a parent can't go with them then I guess they can't go? Not like I blame them too much... some people are crazy.

I only had about 3 groups of trick or treaters, used to have a lot more over the last couple of years.

[QUOTE="Zeviander"]I'm guessing it has a lot to do with social media enslavement. Kids are no longer wanting to break out of their shells and revel in being someone/something else for a night and getting free candy. They are content refreshing their wall into all hours of the night, waiting to see what new trend pops up that they can participate in and feel like part of the herd.

had mostly teens/young adults around my area this year, but not many. Good costumes though. Slender Man, green lantern, traditional bed sheet ghost, Ezio, Luigi, and two girls as babies....they were probably freezing with only t-shirts and pullups on

We've had progressively less trick-or-treaters over the past few years. It's disheartening. :/

Seemingly not. Barely any this year. The street was full of 'em when I was a kid.

Compared to when I lived overseas in Guam and Okinawa, there wasn't many trick-or-treaters. On-base you would see many people, because the military and the military-sponsored programs would make it a big deal :P
