Yeah....probably too much so, he's getting old.

Yes, very. He's never ever gotten a bad performance review. Not even a mediocre one. They have all been nothing but praise. I amire his work ethic because I'm somewhat of a procrastinator... so when I need to get something done, I think about how responsible he is and I just do it.
yea my father is 65 and he is an electrician. Currently working 10 hour days 6 days a week at a refinery. I love him
well, he was. Worked his ass off for 40+ years
he is retired now and, tbh, kind of lazy but you know what? I think he has earned it. Provided he keeps playing golf 2-3 times a weekI won't worry about him too much
100% Same.Very. I take pride in being able to say he's my father and couldn't ask for a better role model. I love him.

Yeah, he's in mid 50s and works non stop, taking a week off a year. He fixes oil pumps in Western Canada.
He works hard, but hates his job. He has been working there for like the past 25-30 years, I think. aaronmullan
poor guy, I've been working at my job for three years and I hate it :P
nah, jk, I love my job but I can see how after 25 years it can get old...still, the stability must be nice
I dont even know what my dad does.......
noxboxlive
just say he is in, ummm...Waste Management. Or he is a union rep
Heck yeah, my Dad is the hardest worker I know. He's a sheet metal worker, where he is constantly lifting all day. His body is battered up (back, knees, basically everything) from doing it for over 35 years, yet 5-6 times a week (sometimes 7 times) he'll wake up at 4 and get home after 4. I look up to him for his tough as nails work ethic and perseverance, but I'll never be half the man he is. hockey73My Father did the same type of work. Hardest working man I've ever known.
He is. 'If you do things, do it right', was always his mantra, and it holds up, for everything he does.
It's also kinda cool that he was a great student back in his day; he studied philosophy, so on top of being a great worker, he's a great person to talk to about that type of topic.
My dad is an incredibly hard worker. He used to work 70 hour weeks for the local council's scientific services but he retired in 2005 to recover from lung cancer. However though he doesn't work now he is my mum's official carer and works incredibly hard taking care of her 24/7, while doing most of the household chores and things as well, when I am not around.
He still makes me laugh every single day. He's amazing and I love him more than I could ever say.
well It's tough to say, he is a vice dean at a university so he is definitely successful and he definitely earned it by teaching for 20+ years at the university, but he doesn't put in crazy amounts of hours or anything, typical 7-5 job and maybe a late meeting or dinner once or twice a week.
Nope, he's retired at 47 and spends most of his time round Europe on his motorbike. He used to work hard in the army though.tofu-lion91
how did he afford to retire at 47? Good pension from military service?

7-5 is a 10 hour day, thats 50 hours a week plus all the extra stuff I am sure he is asked to do but doesnt really want to do. Thats a lot of hours imo.
As a couple users have already said, my Dad's mantra is if you're going to do something, do it right. A lot of young people don't understand that.
I do think some of that wisdom comes with age, because as I get older I see the merit in such an attitude, and it helped me a lot while I was in the military.
