Where does it say in the Quran that Islam makes wearing a burqa mandatory? Most Muslim women I see wear a hijab, rather than a burqa.
Then why are all Muslims in France wearing that? :| What? 2,000 out of 5 million Muslims is far from everyone. You don't see me saying cross necklaces are compulsory in Christianity.[QUOTE="th3warr1or"][QUOTE="zAhMaDz"]Then why are all Muslims in France wearing that? :| What? 2,000 out of 5 million Muslims is far from everyone. Besides being completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand, wearing cross necklaces is completely different then wearing something that covers your entire face..

Which it most definitely isn't. I doubt even 50% of muslim women wear hijab, let alone burqa. That's more like 2%.Xx_Hopeless_xX

Then why, if so few wear them, is it so much of a problem in France that they're considering banning/ have banned it..?

Because it's still restricting their freedom of religion. Not many Christians wear Christian crosses either - but if it were banned, don't tell me there wouldn't be any controversies.
Yes, I know they're different, but I'm putting it into perspective.
