Its a number of things. Firstly, before anything else its the tiny group of retards that blow themselves due to their own delusions and use Islam as an excuse. The media then picks this up and multiplies it by a million, applying it to all muslims to increase 'Islamophobia' which results in some muslims feeling victimised. This then results in anger and angry protests, which makes the media happy and strengthens their biased campaign. This cycle then repeats...

Agreed.

the more i study islam the more i realise what a violent, sexist and primitive religion it is. sure there are sum good parts. But did you ever hear of Jesus killing anyone? Muhammad slaughtered many "The apostle of Allah entered through Adhakhir, [into Mecca].... He ordered six men and four women to be killed."

this is coming from a nonreligious person.

Eh, I'm a Muslim living in America. I am proud to be a U.S. citizen and a Muslim. Things are just blown out of proportion.

There is no more "Islamophobia," as you call it, than there is phobia and hatred of Christianity from atheists, agnostics, or what have you.

1. Yes, but they claim that, just because they claim doesn't mean they're right.

2. Iran dosen't support terrorism :|

3. Yes, but that's the government's choices on what people do, not the Religion

4. The reason most mMuslims overreacted was that Mohammed's face waas never revealed before in the Religion (no documentation was taken on his looks) and seeing those cartoons was equaled to blasphemy (I admit it was an overreaction)

5. Yeah, no.

6. But that doesn't apply to Islam.

I can speak from personal experience as it is happening right now. Speaking in Urdu or Punjabi through a megaphone at 00:37am while driving round the neighbourhood.

[QUOTE="MetalGear_Ninty"]Islamic terrorists causes Islamophobia, it is as simple as that.2mrw

why the world is allowing that small group to repreasent the 1.4 billion muslim???i am sure you heard abt that muslim lady that was killed by a german man because she is a muslim. there are extremities in both sides muslims and non-muslims, unfortuantly both sides generalize this idea for the rest of the group.

Fear is irrational. People fear terrorism even though statistically the chances of being involved in a terrorist attack is very small. It just as so happens, that in this particular point in time, Islamic terrorism is much more prevalent than any other. that's the whole purpose of terrorism -- to upset the public's sense of security.

Well 'The West' stuck its nose in the islamic world for long enough.. It is more a question of there nationalism hating 'The West' than there religion. All be it if some of them use religion as a basis to radicalise there followers, which is common, but the media like to potray this.

Sometimes, 'sticking your nose in' is the most philanthropic thing to do, just look at 'The First Gulf War'.

A phobia is an irrational response to future situations stemming from a previous incident. So Islamophobia in an individual should be caused by a previously negative or traumatizing event. MattUD1

9/11 was as good as a "traumatizing event" for a lot of people.

Islam is not a victim. I understand that it always wants to be treated as though it's untouchable, but that doesn't mean Islam is a victim when it gets due criticism. It never has and never will deserve the status of being immune to criticism.

Danm_999

No religion should be immune from criticism, true. But at the same time, it needs to be examined why the world's second largest religion has rapidly become a near synonym for terrorism.

Nothing is immune to criticism and Islam actually welcomes criticism and prones liberty of expression. I know you don't hear that a lot and it might sound shoking to some. Prophet Muhamad (pbuh) was always opened to the fact that his ennemies were criticizing him all the time and the prophet is model to follow for each muslims. So if he was opened to a liberty of expression, all muslims should.

[QUOTE="Videodogg"]

I look at

Terrorists....they mostly claim to be Islamic and working for Islam.

Iran... ruled by Sharia Law, separation of sexes, stoning of women, publicly said they want to wipe Israel of the map, publicly said Islam will take over the world. Iran supports terrorist groups, Iran has nuclear ambitions.

Saudi Arabia... ruled by Sharia Law. Seperatikon of sexes even more extreme than Iran. Women must cover up head to toe and women have no basic rights. The 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia.

The wacked out reaction of the muslim world to CARTOONS. Death hit decries from Islamic countries on writers and film makers who insult Islam.

The demonstration of millions of Islamic peoiple in the streets chanting death to America and watching them party in the streets after 9/11.

Honor killings...they feel it is ok to slaughter family memebers who break some Islamic customs like, a daughter who holds the hand of a boy.

Should i go on........

ehsan8888

Iran supports Hezbollah, which is a terrorist organisation. Also, people were chanting and dancing in the streets after 9/11 in Gaza, and honour killings in the name of Islam happen all the time. It applies to Islam because it is IN THE NAME of Islam.

Just take a lot back in history. The Crusades for example.
