Although I doubt Adam Sandler would ever agree to make a sequel to any of his movies, wouldn't Billy Madison be a fitting start for one?

I think Adam is getting a bit to old for the outragous comedy's. I think he needs to mature with his acting to more serious roles. Not saying he should quit comedy, but you dont want to be considered a clown your whole career do you?

That's a good point Bobby_Oz and I know he's tried to switch into some serious roles. But being a clownhis whole life might be something he would want. Robin Williams comes to mind as someone who has stuck by his comedy style through the years, though there definitely is a difference between the two. I've just always wondered if any of the "goofy" actors out there have thought of revisiting old roles well into their careers. This was just one I always loved and thought would make for some good nostalgia. :)

Well the thing is Robin Williams HAS done some serious roles at least, I mean real breakthrough stuff. Even jim Carrey did (The Truman show was Epic). I donno, I think he needs to try harder, even if being a goof is what he perfers at the moment.

I wouldn't mind a sequel...though Sandler is starting to garner some critical respect these days...so I don't see it.

Shortly after posting this I've realized this is the post that really should have been created for Adam Sandler nostalgia:

A sequel would be good, but I doubt it will be good as the first. Also have you seen Adam Sandler lately? The guy is ageing a lot! So they would have to use another person which would ruin it.

I think so far 50 First Dates was the closest because it DID touch on some more serious issues, even if it was a Romance Comedy, but I could see him playing a role much bigger.

This is probably the only Sandler movie I havn't seen yet but I heard it was quite serious in story and acting: Punch Drunk Love. Can anyone confirm this and is it worth seeing? Most of the peer reviews I got was to avoid it.

why would you make a sequel to such a good movie. there's no way the second one would be better, and what would the storyline be. he actually went to college, and then all of a sudden finds out that his dad paid of the teachers in college? i mean come on.

IF a story line was to be made, how about a college grad Billy teaching grade school and having to teach his own son in class? But I'm with most everyone else on this: It's a classic and a sequel would only pale in comparison most likely. Still I was curious to see how many fans would react to a question like this.

yeah, a Happy Gilmore sequel would work better.
