It is also annoying when your Dad is a computer programmer and he can easily find you internet history :|

Sounds like you're the one who is less computer savvy. Firefox and private browsing. Or, set Firefox to automagically delete all browser history upon exiting.

It can be a little, but the frustration doesn't happen often because my dad was a computer programmer before our family moved to a different country and my mom uses a computer fairly often when working. Still, as the #1 computer geek in the family, I have a tendency to get annoyed when my parents can't do the seemingly easy things on computers :P

I try and make a joke and you put me down. I know ow to do that. In fact I make Firefox delete my history whenever I close the Browser. I'm not an idiot.

The emoticon at the end of your post doesn't really help us tell if it is a joke, though.

she wouldn't know what it is or how to get it going >_>

next time you're there install it and have it run @ startup and don't tell them. that way you can connect and watch them at your leisure :P

it is annoying. my dad isnt too bad and does tend to learn and overall can do the basic stuff and run his programs fine. though when it comes to installs and anything more advanced than that he cant do it so i usually dont have to help him much, though our printers are touchy. though now and then he has a brainfreeze my mom however took two years to master the power button. she still stumbles on copy/paste. sometimes email attachments and loses stuff she downloads and overall cant do very well on the computer and needs a lot of basic help. yet she can do her family tree maker program perfectly and for some unknown reason fix any broken printer in the house better than i can. yet the odd thing here is the first computer i built she helped me as i didnt know what i was doing and she certainly didnt so we sat down and read the instructions carefully. so there is really a strange lack of logic in her understanding. my dad can at least type also my mom tries to homerow type but fails epically. i do swear there is a technology block as ive found people are either computer literate or not no inbetweens and no way of breaking out of computer illiterate state of mind.

I tried to explain the concept of characters when it comes to creating a password to my mom and she got mad over it since she still didn't understand why a site wouldn't accept her password. She really didn't understand what it meant by having one special character.
