3 billion dollars don't make a country, given that just the budget of the IDF is about 15 billion dollars, and thats less than and thats just a small part of the overall budget (its country, not a giant military base) so while the US does help, its not what keeps the country going.

I don't think they thought it was wrong, its just tthat they thought its worthless which I kind of agree with. Screw Ghandi, I like some of his philosophies and strategies, but it does not mean anything to me as a Palestinian who is one way or another a part of this conflict.

You make it seem as its as easy as going to the local Hamas commander and saying "get off our roof."

Instead of stoning IDF soldiers, maybe they can stone the Hamas instead.

obviously they can't do that the question is , what do people actually do? do people honestly say nothing as the Hamas member just sets up a rocket launcher in their backyard?

obviously they can't do that the question is , what do people actually do? do people honestly say nothing as the Hamas member just sets up a rocket launcher in their backyard?

id guess they voice their objections sometimes, but what would happen to them if they try to dismantle the launcher? They'll get put in prison and charged with treason or such.

oh c'mon. You can hardly compare living in tel aviv to living in Gaza city. Sure horrors happen on both sids, but the likelihood of being buried in rubble is much higher in Gaza. Israelis should be happy of their defense systems.

I'm not trying to compare the horror of both experiences, but its kind of absurd to compare them to each other. The first one is caused by significantly primitive firepower that is mostly not going to hit its target and with a very limited number of occurrences while the other is caused by REAL and ADVANCED firepower with a +50 occurrences a day. Not to mention that Israel has a wide variety of weapons and tactics which are way more horrific and destructive than the current ones, for example a land operation or those phosphorus bombs of 2009 that would cause unimaginable burns and chronic diseases and environment contamination.

Yea this too :P I think its pretty inhumane. We've been subjected to horror and atrocities so much that I kind of find myself developing immunity to it.

It sounds like someone was actually doing the comparison. My point is that there is no need for a comparison to recognize how frightening the situation is for both sides.

Again, if a bomb dropped in my neighborhood, I'd be terrified. And I wouldn't think twice about how it couldn't be that bad because my neighbors in the next city had five times as many. Both situations are pretty horrific.
