Still working on making that RPG. Trying to get a mine cart to stay put after the player moves it, leaves the map and then comes back. I may have to use a Global Event to do it but I'd hate to have to use one for something so small.

Yeah. VX Ace.
Haven't read the manual, man code says I can't.
I've got it pretty well figured out though, I'm just trying some inventive shortcuts. Some work, others fail in sometimes hilarious ways.

I thought about getting RPG Maker, but the amount of work... seems... ehh. But that's the fun right?Â

It's not that complicated. It's certainly not C#. Hell, most of the scripting you'll need for most things can be done at the click of a button...literally:
You most certainly can write your own scripts, and if you're doing anything serious you should, but by and large most of what you need is going to be available on one of those three tabs up there. You can do some pretty complex things with inventive combining of just what you're given.
If you do decide to jump into scripting, Ruby (RGSS) isn't a complex language and it's pretty intuitive. The day I bought RPGMaker I had my first village built and populated by the time I went to bed.
If you're the least bit interested I suggest you at least give it a shot. Hell, you even have a licence with the purchase to sell your game commercially. I'll be happy to help if you get stuck.

Just got back from a couple of Mardi Gras parades, went and ate at some pizzeria, and am now just hanging out (although I'm away from home).

Been wanting to get that, havent played an RPG Maker since the original.Been wanting to get that, havent played an RPG Maker since the original. Allicrombie
VX Ace is my first one. It's quite flexible once you get under the hood, and if you're an artist (I'm not) you can import your own sprites, artwork, tiles, music or whatever.
There's a free trail version on Steam but I'm not sure what its limitations are.
We should totally make "OT: THE RPG". I'd be so down for it. Would so have a 'reveal alt' spell. :D
"BANJO?!! I KNEW IT!!!"
I thought it was dullBack home from seeing Stand Up Guys.

I didn't really think it was that dull, but then again I'm often okay with slow movies. Â I just thought it had no sense of direction for about the first 1/2 to 2/3s of the movie. Â I liked the ending though.

It had to many unanswered things, and didn't really elaborate, the only good part of the movie was maybe the car scene, and Al Pacino.

I thought it was dull Fightingfan
By obvious I mean the final scene where we have no idea what happens to Pacino and Walken
Not really unanswered, but I wish they gave us more background in the form of clips of their occupation besides simple 3-4 minute conversations between the characters. I feel like it wasn't complete. Please Log In to post.
