ITT:We discuss a MAJOR plothole that ruins the entire Dragonball Z Series

When Goku and the others came back from namek after defeating Frieza, they would have all been killed by the androids 3 years later, but they didnt because Trunks came back in time from 20 years in the future to warn/save them.

Now, thousands of years in the past, the Kai's fought Majin Buu, and couldnt defeat him, sealed him up, and left him to lie dormant on the planet earth for thousands of years. Fast foreward to present time, the Androids and Cell are defeated, and 7 years go by. (Trunks was 8 at this time, but remember, in the future world, his world was getting destroyed by the androids).

Now, in the REAL timeline, Babidi came to earth to reawaken Majin Buu, and the supreme kai and Kabeto came to warn Goku and the others. (remember, in the future timeline Trunks would have been only 8 years old when this happened, and since Buu is unaffiliated with ANY plot lines in DBZ up to this point, it would have been unaffected by trunks going back in time and changing things )

Now, in the future timeline, trunks is like 18 when he goes back in time, and his whole world is in terror, constantly fighting the androids.

The plot hole is that it would have been impossible for Trunks to go back in time at age 18 because Babidi would have came to earth and reawakened Majin Buu while he was only 8 years old. Trunks and Gohan (future timeline) couldnt even take the androids themselves, Buu would have killed them and they were the only fighters still alive. The fighters in the real timeline were 1000 times stronger than them and THEY could barely fight Buu. Buu would have raped future trunks, Gohan, the androids AND cell WAY before he had the chance to go back in time to change the future.

CLIFFS:
-it would have been impossible for Trunks to go back in time at age 18 because Babidi would have came to earth and reawakened Majin Buu while he was only 8 years old.

-Trunks and Gohan (future timeline) couldnt even take the androids themselves, Buu would have killed them and they were the only fighters still alive.

-The fighters in the real timeline were 1000 times stronger than them and THEY could barely fight Buu. Buu would have killed future trunks, Gohan, the androids AND cell WAY before he had the chance to go back in time to change the future.

Other reasons stated by other users.

1. No DBZ fighters to bring back Buu.

2. Bibidi could be dead.

3. DBZ was suppose to end of the Cell saga.

Well I just think a lot of things changed because in the future trunks timeline - his whole world suffered form the androids when he was just a baby and thats how early it started. But when future trunks warned goku and them........he prevented most of them from dying...So it's possible that babidi wasnt able to reawaken buu in the future trunks storyline because the androids got all the fighters in that storyline so I suppose it's possible that they got babidi too.

Lol I dont think this ruins the series at all, but it is something interesting to think about.

Dragon Ball Z was supposed to end after Cell was defeated. Buu was created afterwards and they really had no option but to create a plot hole.

If anything, it made me mad in GT that Vegeta ACTUALLY settled down and became a real dad lol. He's supposed to be badass in it's purest form. Not buying stuff for his daughter. Baby brought out the real Vegeta in Vegeta.

Lol Dragonball Z was prolly the most alpha cartoon there was. Crap like Naruto and pokemon (and pretty much every other anime that isnt DBZ) are 1000 times worse :roll:

All i have to say, is that IF trunks never went and warned about the Androids, Maybe that somehow triggered babidi to come awaken Buu. And the future timeline, Everyone stopped training and fighting after they finished namek, Leaving them weak and rusty when it comes to fighting. Trunks coming back only saved them because He got them together to go " okay, major threat coming, You HAVE to get ready for it or EVERYONE DIES. Thats the way i look at it.Lost-Memory

Agreed. That's the last saga I was a dedicated watcher of as a kid. After that, it became pretty much the same thing over and over again.

Remember: Buu needed energy to reawaken. Since no one on Earth was as strong in the actual timeline, Babidi probably took Buu and left, searching for other srtonger species.
