None of these would have come to pass if not for the one's before.
Who's advances in the industry were most revolutionary? That's a tough one, not Sinatra though, he just barged his way into the lounge lizard thing that was already happening. I would say Elvis though, there was no real basis for what he did, whereas the Beatles were influenced by their contemporaries The Beach Boys, and R&B had a strong foothold before Michael, he did bridge the gap between that and R&B and pop which is a phenomenal thing in itself.
In short their all great, except for Frank he's just kind of a punchline.
Sinatra was the first Pop Star in the history of American Music. Everyone from Michael Jackson to Elvis to the Beatles owes him a debt of gratitude. Without Sinatra there would be no Elvis, Beatles or MJ. He had the longest career of all the artists listed, and has the most timeless music and style of all the artist mentioned. Not to mention he slept with more women than all the artist mention combined and all the virgin boys on this gamespot forum combined. Sinatra wins by a milejess3a3
that is the most sense I have ever hearded anywhere in my whole life...he slept with more girls than the virgins on GS...hmmm...wouldn't it only take 1?
anyways MJ..MJ...MJ...Beatles are ok...Elvis has a couple songs I like...never cared for Sinatras music

He is by far the best singer of all the artists mentioned. Elvis sounds like a drunk redneck, MJ sounds like a whiny schoolboy, and the Beatles sound like stoned hippies compared to Sinatra. As for you saying that "without Sinatra there would be no... Beatles", well that's totally untrue. Sinatra really had little impact on the music industry when compared to artists such as the Beatles. There were far more important artists around at that time than Sinatra. I mean, look at Les Paul! He's was a pioneer in the creation of the solid body electric guitar and cited as the inventor of multitrack recording and overdubbing.
And since when was the number of women a musician has slept with some kind of indication to their greatness or importance as a musician?
I wasn't around for the Beatles, but no one did it better than Michael in the 80's. He basically had hits from when he was like 8 until like the early 90's when he got all weird.
im not very into the beatles, i actually prefer the beegees. The beegees are my favorite band (or their music is my favorite music from one band... which says a lot cause i dont even listen to music much so having a band have more than five songs i listen to a lot means i like them :P),
but since beegees are not up there, i definitely choose MJ. He's my favorite solo artist. if beegees were up there i'd be torn though.
The Beatles...Their music means alot to me...I do like Sinatra but, The Beatles lyrics speak to me more...Jackson had stupid lyrics in my opinion,Same with Elvis their lyrics have no meaning there just singing for fun or money or what ever they didnt really dig deep into their soul to write them...Or in The Beatles smoke weed and, Do acid for inspiration.

No influence on the music industry? Sinatra practically wrote the book on pop music! He was the first teen idol, and was the blue print that the Beatles & Elvis followed to get teenage girls screaming. Why do you think rappers like P Diddy & Jay-Z want to wear nice suits and pretend they are gangsters? Even popstars today still follow the Sinatra blueprint in their fashion & attitude. Why did Michael Jackson wear a Fedora and ? Frank Sinatra did it first , and did it best. The Songs Sinatra sang are the greatest songs in the history of American Music written by the greatest songwriters in American History like Cole Porter & Irving Berlin. They all tell stories and are lyrically full of depth. 90% of Beatles songs are about drug use and cheesy teenage love songs. Have you ever read the lyrics of a typical beatles song? But the beatles were high on drugs most of the time when they were writing songs, so what do you expect? Ive read more well written nursery rhymes. I like the Beatles, but comparing their music to Sinatra is like comparing Dr. Seuss to Doestoevsky. The Beatles are kids music, Sinatra is for grownups.[QUOTE="Forever_Changes"][QUOTE="jess3a3"]Sinatra was the first Pop Star in the history of American Music. And different fashions are usually first shown and made popular by pop stars. Anyone who says Sinatra wasn't an influence in music is a fool.
*shrugs* Thus far your point for his importance to music has been his fashion. Why would you not mention how he changed music and dwell on fashion? You are free to respond to the OP with musical examples and not fedoras you know.;)And different fashions are usually first shown and made popular by pop stars.
