Then don't watch them :|.Three sequels is too much for me to take. In fact there's no need for a sequel at all!

avatar was enjoyable throughout, nothing mind blowing but i enjoyed my time in pandora. a sequel isn't exactly warranted but if anyone can pull it off it's james...
I wonder what movies he will rip off now?
Mulan, Terminator 2, Predator and Lito & Stich perhaps?
madsnakehhh
His film Aliens influenced so much in movies and games I think he has a right to take somethings back.
I enjoyed Avatar well enough for what it was, but as a movie experience it pretty much told the story it set out to tell. So I don't see how Cameron can be contemplating so many sequels. Even if he goes much deeper into telling the 'lore' of Pandora, what exactly is going to change? If it's just Humans vs Pandorans on Pandora for the entire series, it will get old really fast.

Well at least one movie is about that, since another ship is already on its way. /avatard
Avatar was an old story told in a new way, and it was great. I laugh how petty haters can't see further than Pocahontas - this is one of the primordial tales of mankind. The hero's journey, finding a new house in an idealised society, even the goddamn hometree: the story isn't new, but the storytelling was unlike anything else before.
I wonder is Cameron's plan is to turn Avatar into a series like the Barsoom novels. It may lose that initial spark and novelty, but it could make up for it through exciting adventures and crazy pulp fiction.
However I'd take Battle Angel over the Avatar sequels. Back in 2008 they had a clear idea of what it will look like and a final design for the main character. In 2009 they even shot test footage...
I don't understand the hate for Avatar. I thought it was a good movie. I dunno about 3 sequels though. I can see one sequel where the humans invade and an all out war happens. Or maybe an ancient race that were once at war with the Na'vi in the past awoke...
Theres still things Cameron can do with Avatar imo.
He already copied every movie ever made with the first one. What's left for him to steal from?

He was influenced by many films big freakin deal.
Has everyone forgotten how influential Aliens was to films and games?
People say no but in the end you will end up watching them one way or another, and the movies will end up making BILLIONS.

Fixed.
People say no but in the end you will end up watching them one way or another, and the movies will end up making millions.Blake135I watched a few reviews and got enough out of it. I wouldn't spend money to see it. It sounded like a movie made to sell the effects to the largest possible audience, rather than actually tell an original, refreshing, or thought-provoking story. Pretty much sums up the current state of Hollywood.
Whatever brings in the most money I guess but I wouldn't be surprised if the sequel is terrible and they just end up cancelling the other planned sequels.
3 sequels to a movie that wasn't all particularly interesting to begin with? How is that gonna work?
