It's his own personal art. I'm way more offended that people think they can keep him from putting what he wants into a song because it doesn't fall into their belief system.
That isn't entirely true, If you play the orginal track, Lucifer, it isn't there, If you play Dangermouse's remix of the song its there. Dangermouse spliced parts where Jay-Z said the number 6 once, Murder, and Jesus and put it together. He also has a song that when played backwards, says "666, Murder Murder Jesus".

..... Kanya West got coverage becausehe embarrassed every one in a huge event.. Jay Z said some statements in a song, OMG! There were far worse things said in music before... Who cares seriously, if you don't like it don't listen to it.

Most Blacks (and other Races) who listen to Hip-Hop are Christians (and of other religion or denomination).
i think he means if your that easily offended genres like rap or metal may not be for them.Who gives a **** what he wants to portray through his songs? It's his song. Furthermore, just because someone sings about it, doesn't mean at all that they believe it, or are preaching it.

No I get what he's saying, be black myself an coming up in a christian family, religion is really much more of a crippling disease then if you are in a white Christian family. There is so much gay bashing, and superstitions amongst black Christians, who would listen and dance to a Gucci Mane song and then turn around and blast you on faith. It's one of the reason I became an Atheist I go to my local community college, don't let me tell you how much ignorance goes on in there. And to other black posters, no I am not self hating.[QUOTE="JML897"]Cause it's 2009 and people get way more offended over everything these days Actually he got in trouble over that line 13 years ago. People boycotted his music, and that's when he started calling himself "Jay-Hova" instead of "God MC".:| In his debut album 13 years ago he said "I never pray to God I pray to Gotti"...why is this news in 2009?
I actually don't understand why this is news, period.
