You got a pic of Joe when he got fired? I want to see teh look on his face. :lol:KHfanboy2
Sorry to burst your bubble, but he wasn't fired; he rejected the Yankees' contract offer.
They offered him a 5 million dollar deal today for one year with an option for a second year. This is 2 million less than what he was making previously. Joe Torre rejected the deal and tonight on the news they said that Yankees GM Brian Cashman and the Yankees will start looking for a new manager. I'm glad he did this. As a Red Sox fan I'm happy to see the ship beginning to sink with one of the most respected managers in baseball basically telling the Yankees to shove it. After all the times he was about to be fired and all the crap he had to go through working for George Steinbrenner I'm so happy he basically said screw you to the Yankees.-MlKE-I researched what you are saying, and it is sad that the best team in baseballs coach is leaving.
But you sound obnoxious.
[QUOTE="drufeous"]Who cares go Tribe beat up on Boston tonight!!!!!!!nivet14Red Sox FTW
Does it matter? Neither of those teams are ready for what my Rockies have in store for them. It's pretty nuts here in Denver.

They're nasty. 20 out of 21. That's friggen nuts....he's one on the best managers in history, but we need someone new.Sants412
This makes me laugh. "We need someone new; someone's who's not one of the best managers in history."
yeah the yankees were pretty stupid about this whole thing. There are no better managers available right now but they essentially forced Torre out. Then they try and get him to come back with a garbage offer, because they realized he was still the best manager for the job and what did he do? Gave them his best cartman impression and said "Screw you guys, I'm going home"
So now what are they going to do? They will have to go young and/or find a guy who has never managed before. Larussa would be a good choice, but he wouldn't last a year in new york with all the media and pressure.
If I was a red sox fan I wouldn't care about the yankees at the moment. I would worry more about the Indians and why the hell the team spent all that money on Daisuke Matsuzaka.

We need someone with more energy. He won us a few world series, but his time is done now.Clarifed.
you sound obnoxious.lithuania_prideThe Yankees throw money at overrated and past their prime players all the time like with Randy Johnson, Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano, Roger Clemens, Jason Giambi, etc. So sorry to sound "obnoxious" because I think it's funny that they decide to be cheap with a manager who won 10 division titles and 4 world series pennants for the team.
