i could have told you that, wrestling is fake and scripted, its just entertainment and its very predictable.
Trying to make wrestling threads in OT is pointless, all of the responses you get are "hurr wrestling's fake" or "it used to be a lot better" I'm not advertising the one I'm in, but try looking for a union here or wrestling forums somewhere. JML897hey man i use to LOVE wrestling, playing smackdown on the ps1-ps2, looking forward to Raw Mondays and Smack Down Thursdays were the best and i still remember watching my first wrestlemania event on paperview. Its just the older i got the dumber wrestling seem to get, they do more talking then wrestling. Their in the ring walking around with the mic trash talking some one, said person then shows up on the jumbotron and they exchange words then the person sends out their buddies and they jump the guy in the ring, pretending to stomp on him and so on. So i always knew it was fake its just its way to predictable and you have no interesting wrestlers anymore. That southpark episode about the WWE was a great portrayal of it.
Uhh why would WWE put their stockholders in such a positionYou do know it's just a story line right.
KnightSkull
Its not a storyline..
I'm generally okay with Soap Opera's or really any show with on going story lines. What I don't really understand is why the actors continue to pretend its real when they give interviews or really do anything outside of the ring.Soap opera = crap
Soap opera invloving a lot of half naked dudes = ultra crap

They contractually have to do that (in the WWE at least, I don't think other promotions require it). I think it's pretty dumb too, though.

I am positive its not a work...

Actually, for all we know they already gave them the heads up about the storyline so they wouldn't be shocked when it happened on screen. If Vince was really relieved they wouldn't have done it on live TV like that. It's really no different than the storyline they made a while ago when Vince sold Raw to Donald Trump.
Stone Cold was CEO for a while, and it was all a story line. Too bad this isn't nearly as good as that was...cell_dweller
the attitude era(90's) is almost impossible to top, thats why people liked this storyline so much because it was like a flashback
[QUOTE="limpbizkit818"]
I liked the show tonight. They could go in any direction at this point.
JML897
Didn't you really dislike the Punk/Cena match last night? The end of that match opened up the most directions for them to go..
Yeah, I didn't enjoy the match itself but I do enjoy the storyline. He's responsible for the attitude era everyone so dearly loves.[QUOTE="ad1x2"]
I'm having high hopes for this storyline. Pretty much anything that doesn't involve the "other" Vince has potential:
Mario2007
The Attitude Era was great but it was also a little overrated in my opinion. Bra and Panties matches were nice to look at but if I really wanted to look at women wearing next to nothing there are plenty of other places to look on the Internet. Russo had some good ideas here and there but he pretty much made himself the laughing stock of the wrestling world when he put the belt on David Arquette.

No he wasn't. Yes, he was one of their writers during that period, but it's not like he was solely responsible like some people like to make out. "Vic Venom" was a spoke in a wheel, and I think his results in WCW and TNA speak volumes, and prove that he isn't all he was hyped up to be.

Kind of. He was one of the writers (the head writer I believe) during the attitude era, but Mr. McMahon filtered out many of his ideas while he was working in the WWF. So yeah, we didn't see many of his crazy ideas or horrific angles in the WWF. If you want to see Russo with complete freedom, watch TNA. Most of his ideas and booking decisions are terrible, and let's not forget, he's one of the guys that cause WCW's demise.
You guys do know that wrestling is scripted right?MgamerBD
This is the weirdest question I always see on these threads and yet it comes up every time. Nobody goes into a thread about The Office and says "hey guys you know it's scripted right?"
Everybody knows wrestling is scripted. It's really not any different from a long-running serial TV show except for the fact that you can buy tickets to watch it live.
[QUOTE="MgamerBD"]Yeah, I think the previous posts about the writers and bad storylines in the past pretty much hinted that we already knew that.

[QUOTE="MgamerBD"]You guys do know that wrestling is scripted right?wiifan001Yes and I find still find it very entertaining to watch k just wanted to make sure you guys weren't taking the storyline seriously. Carry on...
Anyways, I liked Raw tonight. Some good wrestling matches, and I'm kind of interested on how the storyline is going to play out. Not surprised that John Cena wasn't fired. I thought Rey Mysterio was going to win the title tonight, and then Alberto Del Rio was going cash in his MITB.
Why on earth were they chanting Cena when HHH revealed himself as the new CEO? God damn marks.
Anyway, good move to take Vince out of TV and put HHH back in without needing to wrestle.
freek666
yea i heard the biggest pop for cena when HHH was out there....i was like what the hell?
side note has taker come back yet? because i can see him do a match at Summerslam and then break until survivor series

Taker probably won't be back until a month before Wrestlemania like he did this year. I don't think they would just put Taker on tv without promos either.[QUOTE="eboyishere"][QUOTE="freek666"]
