And just to let you now, Obama's income was over $5 million last year, so don't let him fool you into thinking that he understands the financial situation of the average American.

They don't pay because their incomes are so low that it would be unjust to force them to pay taxes. We use a graduated income tax, so people who make more pay a greater percent of their income to the government. In fact, the top 25% of income owners pay over 86% of total income taxes.

so then people who make minimum wage don't pay income tax?

everyone pays income tax.

also, you forget how much of the total wealth that top quarter has. I'd be surprised if it weren't more than 86%. the greater percent thing is true to not so much of an extent anyway.

Not exactly. Everyone who works pays income tax. So, that statement from McCain implies that 40% of Americans are unemployed. Since these types of stats usually don't involve kids, I'd say that the statement is probably inaccurate. I only said probably because I couldn't think of anything else to put there that wouldn't seem too drastic.

Bungie just likes to watch little children suffer in the street and go hungry. He just doesn't feel good about himself unless others are hurting.

Besides, what kind of pathetic baby eater would call a man with "one" house a rich elitist, while the guy who can't even remember how many houses he owns is the common Joe? Just for the record, Obama and his wife did not even pay off their college loans until after Barrak got the revenue bump on his book after his 2004 convention speech.

Lets see, if one loses a house he is homeless, if another losses a house, he has 6 to 8 more, I wonder who understands my situation better.

Guys, McCain is right.

During 2006,Tax Foundation economists estimate that roughly 43.4 million tax returns, representing 91 million individuals, will face a zero or negative tax liability. That's out of a total of 136 million federal tax returns that will be filed. Adding to this figure the 15 million households and individuals who file no tax return at all, roughly 121 million Americans—or 41 percent of the U.S. population—will be completely outside the federal income tax system in 2006. This total includes those who pay no tax, and those who pay some tax up front and are later refunded the full amount of the tax paid or more.

Research is a godsend. But hey, let's all assume McCain is lying/crazy.

He voted for abortion? So. Making abortion in America illegal will only keep poor people from getting them. Republicans only want to make abortion illegal so poor people cannot get them.

If poor people can't get abortions, it guarantees that more and more poor people at the bottom of the scale will be born with no chance at a future. These future-less individuals are crucial to the Republican way of life, they are needed to step on, for cleaning their houses, serving their food, etc...

Making abortion illegal would have no effect on me or my ability to provide one for my wife/girlfriend/daughter, because I can afford to send my wife/girlfriend/daughter to Canada will it will always be legal.

As always, Republicans like to use a false moral argument to make sure poor people don't have access to the same services they enjoy.

Republicans only want abortion illegal in the U.S. so they can keep a constant stream of poor people being born to serve them.

Sounds like your reaching...:|

I'd just like to say, I don't think Obama or McCain understand everybody's situation any better than each other. If you think Obama is more "down with the common folk", and Biden is too, then you are biased. Look at their pay checks. If you think McCain understands everybody's situation better than Obama, then you are biased too. The only one who has any room to talk about understanding everybody's situation is gov. Palin. She is not balling like McCain, Obama or Biden. That's not to say she is poor or anything.

Now, Obama says he wants to build the economy from "the bottom up". That is absoluetly stupid. That sounds good to hear it as words, but think about it. How is he going to build anything when the "bottom" don't have the supplies needed to build? You have to build from the top, down. If you build from the top, jobs are created for those on the botttom. Think about it. .

Hey, I wasn't saying that he was insane, I was saying that the figure seemed off, given that there could be no way that either of the scenarios I mentioned before are currently true. Then again, forgot about the fact that people could break even on their tax return.

Not exactly. Everyone who works pays income tax. So, that statement from McCain implies that 40% of Americans are unemployed. Since these types of stats usually don't involve kids, I'd say that the statement is probably inaccurate. I guess a person cant express their feelings without getting insulted here (Bungie) believe me I pay income tax I am single and make around 40k yet around 6000-7000k goes into federal tax, I get around 2k back, yet everything I buy I pay tax, if you earn a paycheck you pay tax I dont care if u make minimum wage or not, its easy to be a republican when your rich, and believe me there is a good chance Mccain might die in office, I just hope to god Palin is not our president.

It's funny you bring up "baby eater", because Obama did vote to support late term abortions.

Yup, he also voted to let babies die if the abortion is botched, instead of trying to keep the baby alive. Good morals for President!

Disgusting.

Does he means 40% of americans are out of job? Count me in :?magicalclick
I can't even get a job becomes my small town only wants adults. And if Obama wins the Democrats(SP?) are going force unions on nearly all public businesses which will no doubt take large cuts of everyone's money. And now that we won't have private ballets we won't have a chance. People have had their lives ruined by voting against the unions, some people have even been killed. Why do we even have unions if very few give any benefits?!!

For the most part, unions only matter and benefit people who don't do their job.

Most of the money goes to help new democratic people get elected into office, though. It doesn't matter, our country is beyond repair. Both of them are fit to kill this country. And if Mccain wins it will pretty much guarantee a democrat wins the next election.

I can't stand unions. For example, the nurses union takes money from my wife then donates and endorses Obama like all nurses do. It pisses me off. Unions can go to hell.

The bottom 50% account for 3% of income tax revenue. In fact, they get more money back from the government than they pay in taxes. The top 5% account for 60% of the revenue. And yes, the percentage of the income tax is much higher than the percentage of wealth they have.

That was only a few weeks ago, right? Anyways, I suppose I should because I don't mind paying the State and all that, but not the Federal, and since I'm a 10-99 contractor, nothing get taken out, but I do wish to help the State
