I've always thought praying was pointless for just that reason. Well, that, and God should already know what you want, shouldn't he? Being all omniscient?
With that logic, then praying for victims and their families during 9/11 would be completely useless. Even if it is, it's still better than doing nothing. ;)
Earthquakes, major flooding and volcanic eruptions are more frequent in the phil that you think. you just kinda expect them there, and people there have adapted to major natural disasters there.

Yup, earthquakes, mudslides, floods, typhoons, etc. The old river I used to swim in is dry because of that. :(

well, at least it's natural occurence. My family's house there has a creek full of floating garbage. it sucks. as for natural disaster, when i was a kid, we actually liked them because they cancel school:|

uh, i think you might have offended with the title, im atheist but im not going to get offended. But really ya gotta ask your self, why would your god make earthquakes? Some say a test, a test to prove what exactly? And i swear to the god i dont believe in that i will possibly back hand anyone who says a test to prove our faith.

I dont understand what youre saying. Who said anything about god causing the earthquakes? The OP is just asking people to pray for them not to happen.

LOL honestly friend, you dont have to be a SCIENTIST or an ATHIEST to KNOW that God DOES NOT do these things today to test or "show his wrath"...ect... God set into motion things that ACTUALLY take care of itself, and does not HAVE to CAUSE anything....lol....the earth does it all on its own. man, some peopz really do have HALF CAUKED ASSumptions of what and why CHRISTians believe....amusing though
P.S. God dont need to PUNISH us....we do that all on our own
praying can help us spiritually but i must also say praying is one thing , helping the victims of calamity is another, and lets just hope that god is online now at gamespot........
