Just got my SAT score (how did OT do?)

Math: 630

Critical Reading: 620

Writing: 650

Overall: 1900

I know this isn't a terrible score, (in fact its pretty decent) but I am just really upset and disillusioned right now. I studied like a dog for months hoping for atleast 2000.

well anyway how did you guys do when you took your SAT, and how do you feel about your scores

The college I'm attending didn't require the SAT to be taken but they did require the ACT. WHich I got a 17 on yeah I know that's bad.

*sigh* I went through that phase too. I studied for a similar exam like a dog. was expecting like 1500 on 1600 or something. But I messsed, but still got a dcecnt score. You will get into a good university easily if rest of your profile is good. For now enjoy your score 8)

In the UK it was some strange tests we did when we were about 11. I got two 5s and a 6 in English. Can't remember if that was good or bad :lol:

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is basically for high school students to take. Its important because alot of colleges in the United States look at your SAT scores during the apllication process

I thought the max was 1600? Did something change without me knowing?

I am in the UK also, I can't remember the name either but I think they are out of 100.

I thought they were 1600, but any way I thought coleges were getting rid of the SAT as a requirement(something I read a while back). But I did horrible on mine I partied the night before and fell asleep during the middle of it.

In 2005 or 2006 they added a writing section, which yields another 800 points

I never had to take the SAT. I did take the ACT and only got a 25 on my second try. My friends were all getting 28-32... it upset me.

I sucked at Maths ... thats all what I remember.

I took the ACT and got a 28... But that 28 was mostly based on Math as I got a 32 on the math section (99th percentile ftw) but only got like a 23s and 24s in other sections...

And all I remember about the SAT (only took it once) was that I got a 780 on the math sectoion and I think over all 1950 or something... So like 600 in the other 2 lol...

Didn't really matter though because I didn't do any extracurricular activities in high school and graduated with like a 3.2 GPA (required languages fudged me because I missed a lot of school).

Still got into all the colleges I applied for, but would have applied for higher up schools had I done better in high school...

I took the SAT when the maximum was still 1600. I believe I got a 620 on verbal and 580 on Math.

My essay got a 7 out of 12 though, which is goddamn horrible :lol:

Pretty good, to be honest. Not mindblowing, but you did well. No one cares about the writing portion, though, only reading and math really count, but you did pretty well. Congratz, I would take it again if you have time, see if you can do even better.

Are you a junior or senior? If you're a junior you should just take it again. I took it as a Sophomore (I'll be a junior next year) and I got a 690 in writing, 640 in reading, and 620 in math. I'm taking it again in the next two years to improve.

In Jr. High one of my friends finished the OAT (Ohio Achievement Test, stupid right?) In 15 minutes, teacher didn't say anything xD.

He failed, obvisiouly.

I've never even heard of that... I had to take the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) when I was in 10th grade or something like that, but I don't remember ever taking any OAT or even hearing of it for that matter... And I have lived in Ohio sense I was seven...

Wonder why I never had to take it...?

I took a practice test online from collegeboard.com. I dont have to ever write a real one, but I was curious to see what I could get. I didn't study whatsoever and I got 1770, apparently that is a decent score. I think I could do a lot better.

The SAT is stupid. Thank god colleges are getting rid of it. One test, one score that controls your life, totally absurd. Im a music major, how come there wasnt a music theory portion to my SAT? Why does everyone take the same one?

I got like a 1620 or something, which means nothing. Number on a piece of paper. 1900 is a wicked good score.

I got 540 540 540. Twice. So, Im totally average at all academic subjects, wow. and I took the damn test twice for no reason.

It should be major specific.

You got the same overall score I got when I took it last year, 1900.

Math: 610

I don't how good of a score it is overall, but I'm happy with it because I was accepted to the university I want to go to and I didn't need to take any further placement testing for the university.

1900 is good, i got a 1680 (i think) and got into a decent college

1600 something.

Looking back, I wish I had tried a lot harder on it. At the time I didn't really care what score I got so I just walked in and took the test with no prep at all.
