I'm taking my ACT this September. Trying to get a 32-33 which isn't all too hard considering that I get 27s on the practice tests.

In Jr. High one of my friends finished the OAT (Ohio Achievement Test, stupid right?) In 15 minutes, teacher didn't say anything xD.
He failed, obvisiouly.

I've never even heard of that... I had to take the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) when I was in 10th grade or something like that, but I don't remember ever taking any OAT or even hearing of it for that matter... And I have lived in Ohio sense I was seven...
Wonder why I never had to take it...?
OATs are pretty new. OGTs are still required for all sophomores to take, but I think they are beginning to phase those out as well. They also added a bunch of other tests to help prepare for OGTs, which is a gigantic waste of time if you ask me. The OGT was piss easy.[QUOTE="-Shooter-"]I know what you mean. I'm a lazy guy, so taking the SAT for me will be difficult. I'm going to seriously need to study... Yeah, that should to be fun :(Ugh I'm going to have to deal with this SAT crap next year >_>

Oh and I'm going to have four/five APs on top of that and I have to get my community service done. I'm not looking forward to it..
I think I bombed it, probably because I guessed all of it. Was really tired that week.
Colleges don't look at anything, including my GPA unless I wanted to be a accepted to a University. I guess I will have to take the long route to community college and have my GPA status there.
You guys are ridiculously smart. You got 1500's. I only got a 1050 and I hated it. . . . But that was based on a 1600 total score. 800 for math and 800 for Verbal. I don't remember when it changed over and I couldn't even tell you what the total score attainable is. So my score matters none.
If you got 1050 from a 1600 score, wouldn't that equal to 1500s in a 2400 score? I ended up around 1550 myself. My Act was like 26, or the equivalent of 1650 or so.You guys are ridiculously smart. I took the SATs. Did horrible in math, but excelled in reading. I think I got around a 1300. No one has ever complained about my score, so I was pretty proud.
That's a great score.
I honestly don't remember mine all to well (mid 1700's or something). Why? Because it didn't matter in my case. I went to my local university where the SAT requirement was low and my score was already well beyond that. I only took it once and didn't prepare whatsoever. I even had to borrow a calculator from a friend minutes before the exam. I do recall doing slightly better on the ACT though, but nothing really spectacular on either one.

That was back when SATs were out of 1600?

They are rather new.....I think they changed the name too to OAA (kids are afraid of the word "test" apparently) I'm in 9th so....yeah
lolwut is that really the reason they changed the name of it?Yup, then they gave us ANOTHER test, the TerraNova (sounds like a horror movie, am I right?)
I got a 2070:
Math 800
Reading 680
Writing 590
The ACT I get back in the next 2 weeks, I guess I'm sopposed to do better on it too.
I did pretty poor but I still managed to get a over a 3.6 gpa for my field of study in college.
Honestly SAT/ACT are absolute garbage and should not be part of what a university judges you upon. It is terrible and very inaccurate especially considering it has very little in dealing with the field of study you look upon
It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Your school grades matter way more.Math: 630
Critical Reading: 620
Writing: 650
Overall: 1900
I know this isn't a terrible score, (in fact its pretty decent) but I am just really upset and disillusioned right now. I studied like a dog for months hoping for atleast 2000.
well anyway how did you guys do when you took your SAT, and how do you feel about your scores
