I really enjoyed the film. Stories like those always catch my attention. And I thought the ending couldn't have been any better.

That's misleading. The original Obi-Wan was played by Sir Alec Guinness, who passed away in 2000. You're thinking of Ewan McGregor.

Nevertheless, I think Big Fish is a great picture.

It's got the narrating story bit, and the in story present time bit, and the final story bit bit.

It's like a story in a movie in a story.

Nah. It's really pretty well done. And I just sort of threw words in there for fun.

It is Friday, after all.

Woot!

The reason I ask who it was overrated by is because when I saw it, I'd never even heard of it, so I don't know what was being said about it.

I hate that :?

That's why I try to avoid hearing about movies before I go to see them.

I just look for a general consensus between imdb and rottentomatoes but avoid actual words or descriptions like omg that was so amazing. Being too built up for a movie definitely can destroy the experience.

Still, it alters your perspective and increases your expectations before you even start the movie.

It happens with games, too. You see 92% on gamerankings, and you're like, sweet, this game is gonna be awesome...

And then it's just pretty good, and you get pissed off. (speaking of myself, here)

Why didn't you like Bioshock? sammyjenkis898

OMG it's SW.

Seriously, though.

Bad gunplay, poor excuse for role playing elements, silent protagonist, story spoonfed through walkie-talkie/random tapes scattered around, too easy, stupid enemies, hacking was both easy and boring, only two story arcs, that pretty much just end in two completely obvious endings that I called right from the getgo.

It had an amazing atmosphere, great graphics, a compelling beginning, and cool little powers, though. And though the using the camera to "level" against specific enemies was cool for awhile, it was over too quickly.

Yeah. I, at least, can easily see why someone would really like it. I just can't, mostly because of the hype and the reviews that... did not agree with my perceptions.

One of the few movies that can almost make me cry. Usually I'm not that inspired emotionally by movies, but Big Fish was one of them.

That's misleading. The original Obi-Wan was played by Sir Alec Guinness, who passed away in 2000. You're thinking of Ewan McGregor.

*sigh*Come on now, don't be an Original Trilogy snob. Ewan McGregor was Obi-Wan, too.

As for Big Fish, I loved it. It remains one of my favourite movies, which makes me wonder why I haven't bought it yet! I should get on that!
