Kid gets suspended shooting airsoft gun in his own yard

Everyone in this story is phenomenally stupid: The kids for shooting at people at the bus stop, the parents for not watching them (and for calling their son their "property"), the school for the overreaction, and the neighbor who called the police despite knowing that the guns were toys.Makhaidos

People should mind their own business. It didn't even happen on school grounds.

A BB gun isn't the same thing as an airsoft gun. BB guns shoot the balls at a higher FPS. Airsoft guns do not.

What kind of world do we live in when someone can get in trouble for firing at people at a bus stop from the safety of your own property?

I am really not a fan of airsoft, it is a bit too close to pursuing realistic depictions of firearms (and yes, I know they only shoot plastic pellets).  But a lot of people take that stuff serious and dress up in camo, get radio gear, training, and have full-on wargames...might as well be a militia camp lol.

But this is stupid.  When did it become illegal for kids to be kids?

And when did adults stop realizing that real guns go "bang" or "pow" and not "pfft pfft" or "click click".  That lady that called it in is dumb.  Also, dont airsoft guns have orange tips on the muzzle?

pretty much this.  I got in trouble so many times at school for defending myself simply because I was the bigger guy, and obviously the bigger guy is the bully :roll:

We need more facts.

and this is why my country banned them, kids are endangering other people with the misuse of airsoft guns.
