[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]While I agree that the parents are dumb for letting this happen, I have to repeat that the kid was 15 years old. Some people here are sort of suggesting that the parents should have been monitoring the kid's activities by the hour. And yeah...if he was like, 7. But by the age of 15, it should be pretty much a solid expectation that he can exercise some level of independence. That's only 3 years away from living completely alone and unsupervised, and the only way to prepare kids for that is to let them practice it. Similarly, why shouldn't this kid have been playing M rated games? He's 15, not 7. That's only 2 years away from being able to walk into a store and buy the games even without his parents' approval. That being said, independence should be given in small doses that get larger as the kid displays his ability to handle that independence responsibly. So there's no way that a 15 year old kid should have been left alone for four days to play videogames (or anything else). But 15 is well beyond the age where someone should no longer need to be constantly watched, and it's well old enough that much of the blame should fall on the kid himself. The parents are at fault too, but this kid was old enough to know better. Eh....parents should still be aware of what their child is doing at age 15. That doesn't mean constant monitoring...but no meals or sleep should have been noticed. His parents are morons, why weren't they aware of this? They should be aware what their kid is doing and send him outside or something for a while. They are even dumber for letting a kid play M rated games. The kid sounds like he has an unhealthy obsession with games, perhaps it's best if he doesn't play them at all as he is not equipped to handle them.

on a different article the mom says that he came out of his room to get snacks and a quick shower.
if he was able to tear himself away fromthe game to get snacks or take a shower why not get some real food and eat a meal?
not trying to argue your claims, both are at fault, but id expect the 15 year old to know that he needs to eat, or be able to tell that he is hungry/thirsty.

Parents should still be aware of what's happening with their child. Snacks should never qualify as a meal and a parent should be aware of that. I'm not stating the 15 year old shouldn't know better....but the parenting does seem to have been absent in this case.[QUOTE="konvikt_17"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] Eh....parents should still be aware of what their child is doing at age 15. Sometimes (most of the time), you have to blame the parents/guardians. Doesn't matter if the kid will hate you just because you took the game away, but at least you'll be helping him get some sense in his life, and will help keep kids off of the fvcking games' servers!
Are you kidding? He would do Darwin proud! He's the next step in the evolution of Major League Gaming players! :PCollapses? Not dies?
Damn, Darwin wouldn't be happy.

I'm 24 and my mom still checks up on me everyday to see how I am doing. This kid lived in their house. They should have known their kid was playing a video game for 4 hours straight. It's bad parenting. A 15 doesn't know better. Their brains are still not fully developed. His parents are morons, why weren't they aware of this? They should be aware what their kid is doing and send him outside or something for a while. They are even dumber for letting a kid play M rated games. I'm surprised the kid didnt die from dehydration or lack of food. < okay tldr article I am just guessing. He should consider himself lucky. Heck I can't even sit still for 1 hour without walking to fridge to get a drink of water.
If he b!tches about it, you can remind him who the fvck paid for/brought him into this life lol.Enter room, see that your son still plays after so many hours. Turn it off, child yells, smack the and tell him no more video games until he gets his **** under control. Problem over.

What an idiot though how can you play MW3 (Worst COD how is my KD only 1.75 ?) for more than 2 hours anyway..
So, after about two days?[QUOTE="loco145"][QUOTE="GreySeal9"]
Atleast the mom actually took away the Xbox. But yeah, I don't understand why she wasn't doing a better job of monitoring her kid. When I was kid, my Mom always told me to get off the video games when I played too long.
GreySeal9
lol, no, after about five hours.
At three hours, she would suggest I stop playing. At five hours, she would demand I stop playing and if I refused, she would turn it off right in the middle of my game before I could save.
Sounds like what my mum would do but in about 3 hours instead :P[QUOTE="AussieePet"]Most overrated game ever Michael0134567You're just mad because I own you at it. Its easy to be good at COD
