They're both great in their own respects. Vol. 1 was the action-packed one that made you say "Holy ****!" a few times. Vol. 2 was the story-driven one that made you say "Holy ****!" a few less times. I'd say Vol. 1 solely because of the O-ren Ishii part of the movie, what with the Crazy 88 and Gogo.

I know volume one had a lot more action, but volume two definitely had the best interaction between the characters. The fight between the Bride and Elle Driver in chapter nine is my favorite movie scene ever.

I'm leaning towards the first one. Both are amazing though

Kill bill vol 1 was much better than the second. she took on a horde of triads and had many entertaining battles between other assassins. It used anime to tell someones story and used hilarious and powerful music that went with the theme of the moment leading all the way up to the final battle. The second was just talking and flashbacks until she killed 1 assassin and bill while blinding another. There wasnt even one memorable fight scene except for when she yanked out someones eye. And that was in the first one too!

I see both as one film, no point comparing them.Neon-Tiger
It was supposed to be one film, but the Weinsteins decided to split the movie in half. Now, Miramax needs to get off their asses and FINALLY release Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair on Blu-Ray, then I'll be a happy camper.

Wow, old thread is old. And funny, I just watched volume one last night. :P I prefer volume two though. Chapters nine and six are my favorites.
