First of all, let's assume you do have a best friend and that God's exist. So let's say for whatever reason some crazed God from the planet Xenos comes to visit you... And this God loves to torment individuals by having them to make incredibly hard choices. In this case, he wants you to kill your best friend in a very cold blooded way, up to you which way, but it has to be something like setting him on fire or beating him to death with a hammer. All this in exchange for the survival for humanity, he won't blow up the planet or something. However keep in mind, the consequences of killing your friend are not just him being dead, the authorities will get a hold of you. I have always said kill one save a million. So in answer to your question yes but it would be extremely difficult for me but for humanity I would do it.

I probably wouldn't because I would believe it's Satan trying to trick me seeing as how I believe in a merciful god and then the world would blow up because I chose not to believe God would have me do such a thing

Under such a terrorist God, me and humanity including my friend are probably going to die anyway. Honestly I don't believe it's good to kill anyone just to save humanity. If God decided that humanity should die so be it. Who am I to stop it? I'm powerless but what I'm not is a killer.
