Wrestling to me is the art of making fighting look real when it isn't. It doesn't get the respect it deserves because in essence it is fake. Though what they are doing is athletic, and takes skill.

With UFC, they're actually hitting each other and getting involved in grappling moves that hurt. If you've ever been in an armbar you'd know what I mean. UFC=boxing much more so then UFC=wrestling

Kimbo isnt a character, he is new to the UFC, and one problem many have with him is that he brings the whole "showbiz" Internet star thing with him which some say effect the way his matches are judged. Other then that UFC isnt fake, from what I know it isnt scripted, and if you think its fake go watch one match, the UFC isnt wrestling, its mixed martial arts, try to learn something about it before you trying talking negatively about it.

yes, that's all true...but....when they actually go out and perform the stunts, that's true skill. You try going through a steel cage and landing on a wrestling mat without injuring yourself. Or being body slammed through a table onto the floor.

holy cow. i hope you're not serious. virtually all of the fights are authentic and unscripted. if it was like pro wrestling, the fighters would have more defined physiques, more flamboyant characters, and they would be more fluent talkers. the world's best fighter in mma (what ufc is a part of)--fedor emelianenko--and ufc's own heavyweight champion--randy couture--are far from being outstanding personalities, so why would you "hire" them as your champions?. john mccain called it "human cockfighting" years ago and dozens of states tried to ban it. hence they implemented rules to better protect the fighters like madatory glove-wearing and weight classes, and it's been sanctioned by state athletic commissions ever since.
