What do you mean look at tutorials. Do you mean just use the Internet and go to websites with tutorials or buy tutorial software ?

Yes, I used the Deitel and Deitel books and they're quite appropriate for new beginners

Buy a book, get a compiler and start writing code. That's pretty much how I learned. Moo_Man, you can create source files in notepad but you need a compiler to produce executable code.
