And we found out, with 100% certainty that after you die you go to a wonderfully blissfull place, wether it be a physical place, like heaven, some kind of fantastic dream world or the recycling of your best memories, etc., Anyways, just much more enjoyable than living through the hardships of life. Would you consider suicide to go to the after life?

And on a related note, do you think anyone has ever commited suicide not because they were unhappy or whatever, but because they were just so damned curious about what happens after death?

That would be a hardcore atheist.

"GOTTA KILL MYSELF TO PROVE THERE IS NO AFTERLIFE!"

People kill themselves for a variety of reasons, this could be one of them.

And no, I would not commit suicide to go to the afterlife, I would wait it out.

Same... life is good. I have no reason to die just yet.

You only get to live out life once, so I'd just live it out to the fullest first. I have the rest of eternity to enjoy the afterlife.

That is contradictory. There is no life after death. Death is the ending of life.

But what if death is not what we conceive it to be?

Sure in society it means ending of life, but, well, lets say "God" or spirits, or w/e in the afterlife have a different meaning for death, maybe it means, coming into the afterlife. Who knows, I'm just rambling on, I hope you understand what I'm saying.

As far as I'm concerned, an afterlife already is proven to exist. I would not commit suicide, as the residents of said afterlife look down on that.

No matter what I knew awaited me I'd live it out, the world as screwed up as it is, is just to much fun.

I'm kind of wishing the December 21, 2012 doomsday would be true so that we can all commit suicide at once and figure out what happens. I mean it would be the end of the world anyway, so why not?

Here's some weird thought I just had from reading this thread.

What if the afterlife was sort of like a tier system? When you die you go to the next tier with all your memories from the previous one. The next tier could be similar or completely different from this one. The people on the next tier would have advanced wisdom and (possibly)technology. And all of us right now are on the first tier so we don't know what happens.

Again this is just some random thought I had.

It depends who I have to worship in order to get there. I wouldn't kill myself to find out, though.

No way. Losing your family and loved ones would definitely make this wonderful afterlife bitter sweet.
