Linkin has at least some songs that sound different, unlike Muse. Most repetitive-sounding band ever.DoctorFunkYou can't have listend to much muser then. their current style is much different than the music they originally produced. Also to people calling them **** sure they aren't to everyones tastes but I think calling them **** is a bit harsh especially as they are one of the best live performers.
Well, I know that I enjoy their music very much. Thats all that really matters to me. A song doesent have to be extremely complex or impossibly hard to play to be good. Alot of Gorillaz songs are extremely simple, as long as their good though, I dont know why it would matter.Def_Jef88
Yes...but I was merely pointing out there is another way to discuss music.

Some get lucky, but not often. Most bands achieve success because they're profitable, or change their sound or style to try and cash in on what's trendy at the time... whether it's rap/rock, new wave, pop punk, or goth. MOST modern day music is no different than any other device that comes out of a factory.

I know, but there really isnt much of a point in discussing which bands are better. especially with a VS. poll. Its just like religion and abortion threads. People have their opinions / beleifs and no amount of arguing or discussion is gonna change their mind. Nice talking to you though. :D[QUOTE="Def_Jef88"][QUOTE="MedicMike66"]That in no way proves that a band with mainstream success automatically sucks. Some of the most talented and unique bands out there playing these small clubs because they love music and people will never sell as many records as fergie.

Pretty much every genre has its time when its popular. Going by your logic, Alice in Chains being mainstream during a time when grunge was popular can only be attributed to its profitability...hmm...

See. I knew you'd understand. I really doubt Alice In Chains would have achieved success without the guise of the grunge scene. As much as the Sex Pistols sucked and pailed in comparison to acts like The Clash, Ramones, and The Damned--they sold records becuase of the punk scene flaunted by the media, and at the time music journalism (no MTV).
It's true that the artists that lead those scenes were somewhat innovative and fresh (for the time), but it's a rehash of music that's been done a hundred times over, and by better bands.
linkin park, although their newest album isnt as good as the otherssmokingsbadTheir newest album is politically fueled so I wouldn't expect, nor would they expect the younger generations to acknowledge, understand or enjoy their music as much...
