Ok I've listened to the album and I must say.... Goodbye Linkin Park, we barely knew you. Dear God that album is so full of suck it almost shut my computer down. And people know, I'm one of the few people here who still called themselves a fan of Linkin Park. But I don't like the direction they've taken their sound (should have stuck with the rock sound of MtM IMO) and Chester's screaming is cringe worthy in this album. It was just slow, uncreative, and it lacked any real excitement.

On a side note, the song Blackout has a pretty decent bridge halfway through, but that was about the only saving grace I found. Sad to see what Rick Rubin has done to that band :(.

The Catalyst is the most generic pop song I've ever heard. Wretches and Kings sounds more like the old Linkin Park, but it's still generic sounding to me.

[QUOTE="meconate"]The first... was boring, the second was horrible... in my opinion that is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtMqsZFVymA ^ That simply thrashes both of those songs.

Are those the same guys who produced Drum And Bass???? Judging by the channel's vids it is...Somebody please explain! cause that song's amazing :O Returning to topic: Meh, nothing special, the second song reminded me to the old LP and the first one was...bizarre. I'll wait until the release to give a better opinion, I can't say that I will hate it just yet.

Pretty mediocore once again. - 5-6 songs aren't even real. Just speeches... Why am I listening to this? - One of the most anti-climatic opening songs ever. - I only like 3 songs out of the 9 real songs.

The album is incredible.

I agree

It's pretty sad how people would complain about a band never evolving their sound, but when it finally happens you get the "I liked their old sound MOAR:cry:"

All the hate on the new Linkin Park music is getting old. They stopped being a Nu Metal band years ago, get over it. They are one of the few bands who refuse to rehash the same style over and over again, they reinvent themselves constantly.

Anyways, I thought their new album was fantastic. To get the full effect though you have to listen to the album in it's entirety. "Blackout", "Burning in the Skies" and "When they Come for Me" are all great songs.

I'm one of those guys that actually liked "Minutes to Midnight" so maybe that invalidates my opinion, but I like A Thousand Suns too. There's a little bit of angry, little bit of inspirational, and a little bit of epic.

I love Linkin Park an I really like these new ones.

That said Chester isn't that great in Wretches and Kings.

Omni-Wrath
Yeah I actually sorta dislike Wretches and Kings. It sounds obnoxious to me. Blackout and When They Come For Me are better.

Catalyst was just abysmal, Wretches wasn't as bad, but still pretty bad. They just get worse by the album.Flame_Blade88
Nah, this album is definitely a step up from M2M. Blackout is my favourite i'd have to say. It's on youtube so check it out... if you want to.

there is a difference between an evolution and a complete revolution. Strangely enough an evolution tends to be better when it comes to bands. If a band brings new things without completely losing who they are it's appreciated far more. For instance if they explored different sounds of nu-metal (possibly different instruments for example) while giving us more pissed off lyrics it would have been far more appreciated than an entirely different genre of music.

I felt pretty ripped off after buying the album. I like The Catalyst, Wretches and Kings, and Burning in the Skies, but all the other tracks are lame and most of them aren't even actual songs

Gotta hand it to em... they have been able to write the same song over and over, repeat it again and again, and merely change the song titles and lyrics(well, barely change the lyrics), and make millions of dollars and become hugely famous...

No, because that would suggest that their music still sounds the same. And as you can see by the responses in this thread, they sound nothing like they used to. And I think they're making less money than they used to since more people hate them now.

The album is actually kind of growing on me. Not great, but a hell of a lot better than Minutes to Midnight.
