After seeing the new movie (6), I feel that it has helped elevate the film series to new heights. Especially after a few mediocre films in a row.

I agree but there is something special about seeing them in live action.

Half Blood Prince
Order of the Pheonix
Goblet of Fire
Sorcerer's stone
Chamber of Secrets
Prisoner of Azkaban
The reason for my list has a lot to do with how well the movie flows. Some of the first movies flow pretty bad. Half Blood Prince does the best job of transistioning from one phase of the movie to another. They are movies so you can't really expect them to be 100% true to the books.
I'm surprised about the hate for Azkaban :?Brutal_ElitegsWhy? The movie was hardly based on the book at all.

HUH??? That's the only HP moviethat resembles the 3rd novel.
What? There was so many things in that movie that wasn't even in the book, and then so many things taken out of the book.[QUOTE="Blubadox"][QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"] Why? The movie was hardly based on the book at all. Ragnarok1051

I'm not saying it was perfect either but the 3rd one was the worst imo.3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 > 2. Haven't seen the rest. 1 and 2 both sucked, though. 3 was alright.
They all sucked. I only saw the first 4 and they were terrible. I walked out on the 4th one out of disgust to how poorly it stuck to the book. Waste of money to see them.

I'm not saying it was perfect either but the 3rd one was the worst imo.No, Alfonso Curan directed the 3rd movie extremely well, because as a movie the time turner sequence would be confusing for the general audience but he captured Rowlings imagination and made it exactly like it was in the books, David Yates would have written a different story line...hes such a dope. Anyway, the dementors were cool, there was little or no music in that movie(that's how it should be), Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman delivered their master performance in the shrieking shack scene and they didn't abuse the visual effects when you compare it to HBP.

I'm going to have to politely disagree.I'm not saying it was perfect either but the 3rd one was the worst imo.[QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"][QUOTE="Blubadox"]

The Shrieking Shack scene is a very poor example to use as a reason the third movie was good. Much like all the important scenes in the novels, the scene is over before it begins. I think the third movie was good in terms of cinematography, but not great otherwise.I like 1 and 2 the best because they follow those books the most and capture their spirit pretty good. It's the opposite with the books for me. Excluding Order of the Phoenix, I like all the books after the first two more.
In general, I don't really like the movies all that much and I've kind of lost interest in them. I haven't seen HBP yet, mostly because of how disappointing the films have progressively gotten. I'm re-reading the series yet again and I'm on that book at the moment. The movies are decent attempts, and I understand they wanted to cash in immediately, but I've always felt their quality would be much higher if they waited until the whole series was written before starting them. Hopefully they'll be remade 30 years down the road.
But for my list of the movies, from best to worst: 1. 2. 3. 5. 4. Goblet of Fire was especially disappointing since it's my favorite book in the series. The Graveyard Scene was another important one that was botched completely.

I wouldn't even bother if I were you. I got the feeling that the film only existed because the book contained certain essential plot points, and they did not bother to actually present the plot points interestingly. They might as well have just skipped HPB altogether and thrown in a 5-minute recap segment in the beginning of Deathly Hallows.

You say the third movie stuck to the book. Did u even read it?1: Chamber of Secrets
2. Philosophers Stone
3. Prisioner of Azkabam
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Half Blood Prince
6. Order of the Pheonix.
They have overall been getting progressively worse,6 was bad but you really couldn't get any worse than 5 which was the worst book of the lot. And seeing how they have the same Director for the 7th one from 5 and 6 I don't see that ranking high either. And if they go all out for that 12 rating again I will be really annoyed as the 7th really should be a 15.
