People change as well. And if I don't like what the person has become then I may stop loving her. I haven't been married yet but I was in a five year relationship. Sometimes it takes a long time to realize that someone isn't the right person for you. 

As I said before, people change. If she changes into something I don't like, then that's impossible to predict. I hope it doesn't happen to me, and that's why I'd rather wait before marrying someone. But it can happen.

jesus lived in a nation that practiced polygamy and never once said anything about lay people being prohibited from multiple wives.

if you lived in that time and married the "two become one".
