Was it decent cleavage?

cybrcatter

It wasn't bad cleavage, but not worthy of getting off on just a warning.

Feminists don't want equality, they want superiority.

Make fun of them, makes some sexist jokes, move on.

I think the percentage of gamers who are female is now over 55%. That being said, the vast majority of them are casual gamers who idle on facebook or perhaps will play DS games occasionally. Those who are "hardcore", or say those who go out and purchase games on console/PC are still very dominantly male. Games like League of Legends and WoW though seems to be attracting female gamers.KittyKat

If you want to find where the girls lurk in hardcore games look for ones with a draw beside fighting. Obviously that isn't a hard rule but my experience have been you will find the most chicks playing an MMO (social aspects), RPG (story-driven), Adventure (story-driven), and that type of thing.

The problem with something like this is you assume everyone meet online is male, everyone maybe act male but there are a lot of chicks who hide themselves for good reason. If every online game required a gender identifier you would probably be surprised at the concentration.

I don't like Chris Rock so I'm not watching that video but... Loud feminists who go on about empowerment and shave their heads and whatnot are harmless (except to their own cause). You can't compete against men at being a man. It's the seemingly delicate flowers that are capable of totally gutting ten guys with a couple of words who really know what feminine power is.

[QUOTE="MissLibrarian"][QUOTE="Scoob64"]just saw another article on IGN about making sure women are properly represented in video games... which is a bit odd as video games are mostly played by men. one gender is not more important than another :)LJS9502_basic

Megadrive games let you choose to be a girl. The industry took a backwards step then :( But now there's Skyrim so w/e.

You're doing in wrong....girls don't game and they aren't on the internet. I've read it here so I know it's true.

I can see how's there's a time and place forgroups who want to marginalize, enslave, or eliminate large sections of the population. I understand that I want to continue living (hint: I'm male), and theories that interfere with that I'm not too keen about.

Palantas

That's strange, and here I thought feminists generally want to point out inequality and work toward solutions.....

Such as accessibility issues. My campus has few ramps and elevators, but a lot of stairs. The school installed these yellow posts on campus where you can press a button to request assistance/security after there was a sexual assault on the school grounds. However, people in wheelchairs generally can't reach the button as it is too high up. Yet, people with disabilities are some of the most targeted individuals for assault.

Stuff like that. Ever since the late 80s, feminism included intersectionality...how different identities and experiences converge. Mainly, this change was caused because white upper ****feminists tried to bunch everyone's experiences together as "women's issues", when that conglomeration only wound up silencing many feminists' life experiences.

So feminism is focused on challenging heteronormativity and the systems of power which silence, erase, and oppress peoples of all types.

Feminism is now about being above males, not about equal rights as males. From child support which has the male required to pay it regardless of who has the job, rape cases automatically trying to judge males as criminals (Patrick Waring case) as well as being able to publish gendercidal works (SCUM Manifesto) and deem it as accepted whilst any male publishing any works arguing for a patriarchal society or the complete gendercide of females would be arrested under hate crime.

Vesica_Prime

It isn't about being above males at all. There are feminists who have been constantly pushing for law reforms on child support, alimony, and custody rights. Just because they continuously fail doesn't mean they don't exist. Feminism isn't a big conglomerate, it's thousands of tiny branches. What's understood as feminism now is a ghost of what it was in the 70s, twisted by media moguls. A lot of the easy stuff got implemented to a decent degree. Right to work, education, equal pay. That stuff is easy, that is simply bringing the other 50% of the population into the labor force so businesses can make even MORe surplus profit and create even MORE consumerism. They got what they wanted out of the feminism movement, and stopped support at that.

I've taken a decent amount of gender studies ****s and there haven't been any arguments for worldwide matriarchy. The closest there has come to that is when one of my profs openly hoped that if any aboriginal communities were still out there with more matriarchal social systems, that they remain undisturbed by globalization and colonization.

Feminism is about analyzing why and how power is exercised over people, and challenging violent oppression caused by that power. Anything else is merely a person's own beliefs.

I went to very liberal school, out of all the feminists I met there, only one had amusing views on the male orgasm in relation to book pacing, and none had any interest in a global matriarchy, or any form of female superiority for that matter.

It's kind of ridiculous how blind to privilege so many are. I hear a lot that white men can't get jobs anymore, that minorities are taking them due to an organized effort to challenge white men.Yet, most of my friends are white and male and have an easy time getting jobs in comparison to my trans friends. Especially my trans friends who are considered racial minorities. I hear "White men can't say anything without being called racist or sexist". Wow, someone is challenging them to check their privilege or maybe use more respectable language, or educate themselves on an issue. If a woman talks a lot, she's often considered to be criticized and deemed annoying and worth ignoring. If a woman is loud, she's often deemed obnoxious; if she's trying to lead, she's being too bossy, a b**** or unfeminine; if she talks about her sex life she's a s***; if she dresses in certain clothes in public, the level of respect people have for her consent drops considerably. I could go on. Do men have issues closely linked to their being male, or white, or whatnot? Yes, and those issues can certainly be of importance, but they're very hard to dismantle as hegemonic masculinity is heavily rooted in our societies, and heteronormativity is widespread across the developed world.

I find it in my best interest to perpetuate all of these notions.

The video is absolutely ridiculous. Like actually. Over dramatic much? I'm sorry but we in no way live in a 'man-hating' society. I actually can't believe what I just watched.

Sorry, militant feminists, you can't have your cake and eat it too. I understand wanting to be equal, but when that drive for equality crosses the line into militant feminism, you will succeed in alienating the general public than getting them interested in your 'cause'.
