Hyundai Sonata turbocharded 2.0L i4 gets 270hp.... more than my ford 4.7l v8.... oh and let's not get started on gas economy.CptJSparrowThat's turbo though, turbo is bullsh*t horsepower.

It's not as amazing as compared to inspired horses.
I can give a Honda Civic 500HP via turbo, but it won't touch a Ferrari Italia that has a little less then that(562 actually). Turbo is a lazy way car manufactures sell 'performance' to the masses.

In regards to my Civic I agree, it's 'cheating', but I'm talking Engine optimization.
BMW just doesn't have it compared to other manufacturer.
BMW is just name and they hold a certain 'regard' for their brand, they don't put sh*ty equipment in their cars.
not exactly sure how turbos are cheating. if it makes my car perform better, i dont see the problem.

Again the E46 M3 CSL has 360 Horsepower out of 3.2 Liters.HP/Liter is a Honda fanboy way of lifenot exactly sure how turbos are cheating. if it makes my car perform better, i dont see the problem.

Instead of having the engine do the work you're letting the exhaust do it, but the best explanation is this. Jeremy Clarkson: ''exhaust gas is diverted into the turbocharger, witchcraft happens and then you go faster''.not exactly sure how turbos are cheating. if it makes my car perform better, i dont see the problem.

I found this page, but can't seem to find all the specs.

*Regardless that's an awesome engine like Honda's B-series just looking at the performance charts(Given that's not a v8)
[QUOTE="M3boarder23"][QUOTE="taterfrickintot"]HP/Liter is a Honda fanboy way of life whats wrong with a high performance car with a honda logo on it? What the hell? How did what I said warrant your response?! Honda makes great cars and great engines, but the fanboys who base an engines performance purely on HP per Liter rub me the wrong waynot exactly sure how turbos are cheating. if it makes my car perform better, i dont see the problem.

Jeremy Clarkson: ''exhaust gas is diverted into the turbocharger, witchcraft happens and then you go faster''. You seem to be confused. It has nothing to do with witchcraft. Exhaust gasses spin a turbine. That turbine feeds air to the engine. The engine produces power. The engine is still doing work. he doesnt actually think its witchcraft lol. the quote is suposed to be funny because it was jeremy clarkson explaining turbo even though he didnt understand it lolnot exactly sure how turbos are cheating. if it makes my car perform better, i dont see the problem.

M3boarder23What's the name? I use BMW cometic parts on my Civic, but the names are a pain to remember. They're like ei324 and bullsh*t like that. Name of car or wheels? Car. I can never name those BMWs I just call them 3 series, 4 series, 5series etc..
Here's my 'death box' prior to the modification, I got into a car accident and I'm re-doing the bodywork so I have no recent pics of it.
My fog lights in that picture belong to a 3 series 1998-2001 if I remember correctly.
They're are multiply ways we can determine the meaning of 'optimization' we have aerodynamics, power to weight ratio etc... I'm not gonna discuss every single one... But praising the art of optimizing automotive performance while bashing one method of optimizing automotive performance is just plain silly. Not really. For example. You can have 500 horse power, but your tires are square instead of circles. Work on the tires before you work on the engine.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="thegerg"] I find it amusing that he talks about engines optimizing power but puts down engines that take further advantage of exhaust gasses. I'm not sure he knows what the word "optimizing" means. thegerg
